Author profiles need merging

There are two profiles for Ernest J. Gaines, one as listed above and one as "Ernest J Gaines" (no stop after the J):

As a result, his new book The Tragedy of Brady Sims has two separate listings, one under each author. I believe that the authors need to be combined so that there will be just one entry for the book.
It does not look like either profile has been claimed by the author himself. I hope this is the right place to post!
