Tell us what you're reading this month!

Maggie (maggieallbee) | 36 comments I'm reading Into the Water by Paula Hawkins. It's the next book by the author of The Girl on the Train (which I loved). I'm almost finished, and it's pretty good, although not quite as good as her first. I'll review it on my page when I finish.

Ame (ameb33) | 43 comments Currently listening to "The Stars are Legion" by Kameron Hurley, which is a sci-fi, biopunk mystery adventure kind of tome, and fun for the commute (available on hoopla!).

For more professional reading, I've checked out "Workplace Learning and Leadership: A Handbook for Library and Nonprofit Trainers" by Lori Reed through our OverDrive eBook collection.

Barbie | 19 comments I'm reading Things to Do When You Are Goth in the Country by Chavisa Woods. It is very good and has a great 90s vibe.

That sounds like it would be hysterically funny. Is it?

I'm not sure I'd use the word "funny". More like darkly bizarre with a sprinkling of ironic humor? I'm also not sure if everyone would find it funny. Sort of like Twin Peaks meets Pete and Pete meets Doug. I've only read the first two stories though.

For YA fiction I'm listening to book 2 of the Razorland series entitled "Outpost" by Ann Aguirre.
For Adult Fiction I'm listening to "Glass..."

Origins was too much for me. Have you seen that Cosmos has been released in audio though? Read by Reading Rainbow! It has been an emotional listen.

Sounds interesting! Haven't read Woman in Cabin 10, but I have heard of it.

LeVar Burton AND Seth MacFarlane (who is, I admit, a surprising choice)? Sign me up. Too bad I struggle with grasping astrophysics....I'm going to try and start with NDT's Astrophysics for People in a Hurry.

I'm also reading The Wages of Guilt by Ian Buruma. It's about the aftermath of WWII in Germany and Japan -- how they dealt with the realization of what their countries had done, how they viewed themselves as people and how they moved forward. It's a slow read, but very insightful. (Once a history major, always a history major!)

I've been reading Anna Karenina in very short bursts on and off for a time period that is too embarrassing to admit to others. I treat it like dark chocolate -- just a little bite here and there. The language is so beautiful, I can't bear for it to end. (Either that, or the fact that someone accidentally told me how it ends has ruined me for it!)

If you liked "Girl on a Train" I think you'll like "Woman in Cabin 10""

Thanks! I will add it now.

The premise for Fire on the Mountain sounds pretty incredible, and I really enjoyed Bisson's short story They're Made out of Meat so I may have to check that out at some point!

Universal Harvester was very... interesting. Let me know what you think!
