Thank you, Alex, for an honest review of my book. I wish I had an editor who would alert me to the parts of the book that I could correct. :)

message 67: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) Great work, everyone, and thanks Lucretia, you're the first one to be done all four!

The first round doesn't end until Sept. 17, so we have lots of time. I'll send out a reminder Sept. 14.

Nikki Landis (nikkilandis) | 24 comments Thanks for your review E.M. I'm a little shocked at a such a low review from a fellow author but you didn't like my book and I can respect that. Would have appreciated some feedback from you but I guess you left the review you felt you needed to. At any rate I always want honest reviews so even as brutal as that was, I'll dust myself off and move on. :)

Thank you so much, E.M., I'm thrilled you enjoyed the story. I hope to see you in other rounds.

message 75: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) Wow, E.M., four reviews in one post! Thanks for completing them, and see you in another round.

Yes, as for the review of Fallen From Grace, this is not intended to be a beta reading group; rather, all reviews are final and that's the rationale for these groups.

Beta reading groups can be found there -- and yes, in those other groups, feedback can be private and along the guidelines as set by you as author, with specific chapters, themes, or questions posed privately as you wish.

message 76: by Nikki (new)

Nikki Landis (nikkilandis) | 24 comments That's fine. Thank you Scott.

message 77: by Jaci (new)

Jaci Miller | 44 comments Thanks E.M. for the thorough review. Much appreciated!

message 78: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) Yes, Nikki, those beta reading groups are fantastic. Again, I emphasize that there is a LOT of flexibility in those groups, almost like a chummy atmosphere where people trade critique partners, ask for feedback on a query letter, etc.

message 79: by Nikki (new)

Nikki Landis (nikkilandis) | 24 comments That's fine Scott, however I used a lot of beta readers for that book and it was part of a Kindle Scout campaign so it got a lot of eyes. I don't need any more beta readers for it. I wrote Fallen to the best of my ability and I love the story. It's my work and I'm proud of it, even if others disagree, as their right. But I do appreciate your feedback and I may use those beta groups in the future. I just believe in being kind to others and supporting my fellow authors as much as possible. Not everyone will like my work and that's ok. I write the books I want to read and not everyone likes the same thing. Variety is the spice of life. Thanks for sharing about the groups. :)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) At this point, with Round One reviews due Sunday, I find this Round in great shape, with only one person still to submit, four days before the deadline.

Meanwhile, Lucretia and E.M. have finished all four rounds already.

We're smoking, folks!

Good stuff folks. Keep enjoying the reading.
