Life, the Universe and Everything
question
Should I continue reading this?

I've been pretty bored reading this book so far.I loved the previous books in the series. Should I continue reading it, or is it not worth my time?
The first three books are all pretty consistent so I don't know why you'd be bored with this one. How far did you get?
For some reason on this book, I quit halfway through and had to come back to it later. It's worth finishing though. Like Scott said, it's really consistent with the tone of the other books, so if you liked those it's worth it. (I think that may have been why I got a little bored with it, too? It almost became too formulaic?)
Maybe take a break and revisit it if you're not enjoying it right now, though.

I loved the first three books, but for some reason did not like the fourth. I'm currently reading number five and it is pretty enjoyable.
This is by far my favourite one of the series. I would say its definitely worth continuing. You need to see how it all fits together.
YES! the next 2 books, the only ones around when i read them, are hysterical... i once fell off a nyc subway seat laughing so very hard!
Yes. But Douglas Adams isn't for everyone. You must be willing to understand his cleverness.
I can't understand you liked the previous ones but you got bored reading this one. I read all the fives without stopping. So, yes, you should definetely read the two next books.
I think all of his books are good except So Long and Thanks for All the Fish. If I were you I'd finish reading this one, and then skip right to mostly harmless: there is no interweaving in Fish and frankly, Fish is confusing.
I ran into a bit of malaise with this book the first time (read the series 6 or 7 times now as well as listening to the BBC series about 2x infinity times... it actually is pretty good after you get through it, and totally necessary before moving on to the next 2, which are quite good. Definitely stick with it.
I loved this one as much as the others. However, there is a slightly different pace and style to this one, most likely due to the fact that this book in the series was originally meant to be a serial in the Doctor Who T.V. series, not a hitchhikers series.
Yes ! Noone should not got through life without having read the Douglas Adams written Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy series. and maybe the Dirk Gently books too.
I've always felt that the first two Hitchhiker books are the high-water mark, then each one is a bit worse (Mostly Harmless is IMO Adams trying to break the series as thoroughly as possible, so that he can't be asked to put it back together again). They're all quick and easy reads though, so you may as well finish them off. There are good jokes and funny situations and funny ideas in all of them.
I loved this Douglas Adam's so I hope you stick with it and just give in to his witty sense of humor. but good luck either way!
interesting question. For those that enjoyed it, they finished it and will of course say its worth it. For those that didn't enjoy it, they didn't finish it and can't say whether its worth it or not. :)
Question for Douglas Adams fans: have you also read Evelyn Waugh and Wodehouse? How do you feel they compare?
