Of course. The more the merrier.

If all of you want to do a read sooner than Feb 5th I can change the date. There's no need to wait for me. I'm overbooked as it is so I'm going to wait.

I might start Illuminae this weekend but I don't have a timeline to finish it.

Shame!🔔 Shame! 🔔 Shame! 🔔
I will join the discussion in February though.

I really liked this book... the audiobook is good, too, if anyone does those... a number of different narrators... and sound effects for the space battles and emergency klaxons... I might join in for Gemina if I haven't read it before you guys get to it...

I am almost done with Gemina too. Shame on us! 😂😂😂😂

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I already finished it /*O*/
Yes, utterly shame on us! SHAMEEEE 😂 😂 😂
but...
BUT!

I would love to share my thoughts with you all as well.

RE-READ REVIEW:
Yes yes I am officially 100% Illuminae trash and I COULD CRY BECAUSE I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH. I literally....afjkdlasfd. What am I even supposed to say here? OKAY. Just a few like "reread" thoughts in list format because that's who I am.
• First off the audiobook is freaking amazing and I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT ENOUGH. It's got tons of voices, it's basically dramatised, there is MUSIC and like beep-booping (shh, technical term there) of machines and I lovelovelovelovelove it.
• The emotion in the audiobook actually nearly made me CRY.

Yikes. I did the first 20% at the gym this morning. If this doesn't improve in a hurry there's no way I'm moving on. It's far too YA.

Yea... that's not going anywhere, sadly... I lived with it, but it's pretty prevalent in both the books...

I get what you mean about the banter. I'm hoping the story keeps me interested, we'll see!

Did you get to the AI pov already? That and the book format were the reasons that made this book good for me.

Did you get to the AI pov al..."
I completely agree with Miche about this.

I was going to ask the same thing. I'm only 25% in but I've liked all the different things being done with the pages in the physical copy. It's a nice change from the normal.

I trully enjoyed the physical copy. They did a spectacular job with the formatting.

It looked like reading maps and reports would get boring at a point. But no!!! Ezra's mails made me laugh a lot :)

@Siobhan, agreed it's completely different to the adult epic fantasy I've been reading lately, really enjoying the change.
@Scott it's definitely got a very YA feel, especially the dialogue. I'm okay with that since the characters are supposed to be 17. I'm currently reading Wizards Rule and really struggling with that since the characters are supposed to be adults but their conversations are so cringe worthy and awkward.
@Miche I agree 100% with physical copy. It's just so cool to look at, it's really helped bring me into the story.
@Hacen I have to force myself not to click your spoiler, I'm dying to know what happens next, I can't wait to finish work!

Iain said the audiobook is awesome too, but I've not heard it. Apparently has a cast and sound effects!
I was just thinking yesterday it would probably look cool on kindle because a lot of the pages are formatted like Web pages/messenger screens. If anyone has the ebook, what do you think? :)

This style of this also heavily reminds me of These Broken Stars. Same YA, sci-fi, told after the fact in pieces, dual character POV. I really enjoyed that book so hopefully I'll enjoy this one too. Sometimes I can get a bit bored with linear, chronological order story telling so it's nice to have something a bit different.

I don't think the kindle would work for me. Just because whenever I read a book that has a deviation from normal page format I always find the kindle version difficult to read. There's something really cool about this in paperback form.

Ooh good plan.

I was told that this had a ton of voices, and it really well dramatized. Well yeah, it's got tons of people voicing it, but they reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallly slowly, and they're very monotone. It killed any chance of me enjoying this.
And if you're wondering why I don't wanna just read it? Well it's simple, I would never actually just read something like this. I don't want to read what are supposed to be interviews and documents, it just comes off as awkward.
Shame the audio turned out to be too good to be true.
So yeah, I'm dropping this with extreme prejudice.
