New round is up. Sorry for the slight delay -- I couldn't post last night. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Round 5 (October 11-October 24 at midnight)

*Read a book that has some type of baked good on the book's cover or mentioned in its text.
BONUS POINT: if the baked good is some type of pie.
#7: Clouds
*Read a book that has clouds on the book’s cover or mentioned in its text.
#9: Lightning
Read a book that has lightning on the book’s cover or mentioned in its text.
#41: Daylight Savings Time (ends in the first week of November)
*Read a book with a clock on the book’s cover or in its text.
#28: Veterans Day (November 11)
*Read a book that fits one of the following:
-A book with "11" in the page count or publication date (November would count for 11).
-Takes place during WWI
-Title or author's name starts with the letter V.
Round Five ends 10/24/17 at midnight -- 11:59 P.M. (Goodreads time), so reviews for books need to be posted in their team's review thread by then.

I could do #7 and read
or #41 and read
.
But if a different one is better for me to read, I can look for a different book. Just let me know. :))

works for anything except #28 Veterans Day. It mentions "pies," so it will work for the bonus point (unless it has to be a specific pie rather than ..."
General pies work. :))

General pies work. :))

#9: Lightning
*Read a book that has lightning on the book’s cover or mentioned in its text.

How it works: "It wasn't pretty... but I wasn't struck by lightning" (p. 10). "Do you know how God controls the storm and causes the lightning to flash from his clouds?" (p. 19).
This book could actually cover any of Round Five's tasks except for #20.
I am loving 5 Minutes with Jesus and should be finished with it by the end of this week. :)

#20 Baked Goods (Bonus Point: Pie) - Andrea
#7 Clouds - Melanie?
#9 Lightning - Monique
#41 Daylight Saving Time - Melanie?
#28 Veterans Day - ?

I can fulfill task #41 as well as task #9, if needed, if we don't hear back from Jamie. I'll be finished with task #9 by the end of this weekend.
Kimberly - Kudos for challenging yourself to read Fall of Giants in less than two weeks! This looks like an interesting book. :)
Happy reading team! :)

Jamie and Kimberly, how are those books coming along? Did you have any extra time for reading over the weekend?

I will be finishing a book that fulfills the #41 task tonight - The Secret of the Old Clock. How it works: There is a clock on the cover and the word "clock" is throughout its text. I'm enjoying re-reading this childhood favorite. :)
I hope this is okay with everyone...

#20: Baked Goods - ANDREA (Petticoat Detective)✔
#7: Clouds - MELANIE (On Love's Gentle Shore)✔
#9: Lightning - MONIQUE (5 Minutes with Jesus)✔
#41: Daylight Savings Time - MONIQUE (The Secret of the Old Clock)✔
#28: Veterans Day - JAMIE (The Perfect Husband)✔
With 25 of the 50 initially listed tasks complete, it seems we are halfway through this challenge! :)
...actually, next round is the final round. Not all the tasks will get called and this was done on purpose to keep things random. :))
I can't believe the game is almost over! But there will be a Christmas/holiday themed challenge posted shortly after this one ends.
"There will be 6 rounds, each round is 14 days.
Challenge starts August 16th and ends November 8th."

My book has a book on the cover, so I'd love to do #49 National Hammock Day.
I'm reading Big Sky Showdown. I'll have to look and see what it could work for.
....
Phew!!! I almost thought it wasn't going to work for any of them. So happy that it mentions a "sleeping bag"! KL#472
I'll take #23: Sleepovers
*Read a book with sleeping bags OR pillows on the cover or mentioned in the book's text.

Melanie, I'm glad your book works for the sleepover one!
Jamie and Kimberly, I hope y'all are able to find a quick-to-read book for one of the other categories.
Let's do this, Team Metamorphosis! Happy reading!

Awesome Andrea!!! :)
We all should finish the round six tasks as quickly as possible, considering the first team to finish this final round's tasks wins the challenge. ;)
I started my #6 book this morning and will be finishing it tonight. I chose Because of Winn-Dixie (182 pages) for this task because I knew it would be a quick read. So... I've also found a cute 112 page book to cover the #16 task (Turkey Monster Thanksgiving), which I've started and will finish tomorrow. :)
#16: Thanksgiving Turkey
*Read a book with a TURKEY on the cover or in its text.

*Book: Turkey Monster Thanksgiving by Anne Warren Smith
*How it works: There is a turkey on the cover (on the girl’s shirt) as well as throughout the text. “Sunday afternoon, Claire and Mr. Plummer gave up on putting their turkey on the roof. It was too big. Instead, they set it on the lawn where it glared at everyone who walked by” (Chapter Five).

I'm currently living about 15 miles north east of Atlanta, Georgia. This is where I'll be moving to Texas from. I've sent you a friend request. :)

Hallelujah, praise God indeed! The only good rain we've had in months is what was brought in by Hurricanes Irma and Nate. With the lack of rain, a lot of local plant life has been drying out and dying. I hope we get more rain soon.
