Possibly Solved: YA vampire book Possibly from the 90s

Okay, I read this book and it's sequel in the 90s. I'm not sure if it is a series, I only read two. The girl MC woke up an ancient sleeping vampire and I just remember his cloak was moldy or mossy and he was almost apart of the house.

? Don't be mislead by the title; it was about a vampire. He lived inside the tower in her house.
If I recall correctly; he didn't really do anything vampire-y (sucking blood ; et cet)

There were two sequels:
The Return of the Vampire and The Vampire's Promise

Amber; it's been more than 20 years since I read them; but in the third one; there was a vampire in the floor and a vampire in the windows. How/why was really poorly explained. So maybe that's the "being part of the house" part you remember?

In the first book, the vampire somehow lived in the window shutters! I also remember this vividly after about 20 years.

Right! And this was more of a "psychic" vampire...draining energy. He didn't suck blood or kill anyone.

I remember he was in the chimney or tower or something lol

I can't find any excerpts or copies with the library. I think I borrowed it from our school library.
