A | 12 comments Okay, I read this book and it's sequel in the 90s. I'm not sure if it is a series, I only read two. The girl MC woke up an ancient sleeping vampire and I just remember his cloak was moldy or mossy and he was almost apart of the house.

Rebecca (beccaelf) | 66 comments The Cheerleader by Caroline B. Cooney ? Don't be mislead by the title; it was about a vampire. He lived inside the tower in her house.
If I recall correctly; he didn't really do anything vampire-y (sucking blood ; et cet)

There were two sequels:
The Return of the Vampire and The Vampire's Promise

A | 12 comments I think The Return of the Vampire and the Vampire's promise might be the ones.

Amber, should we mark your request as "Possibly Solved" or "Solved"?

message 7: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (beccaelf) | 66 comments Amber; it's been more than 20 years since I read them; but in the third one; there was a vampire in the floor and a vampire in the windows. How/why was really poorly explained. So maybe that's the "being part of the house" part you remember?

Rachel | 1527 comments In the first book, the vampire somehow lived in the window shutters! I also remember this vividly after about 20 years.

message 9: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (beccaelf) | 66 comments Right! And this was more of a "psychic" vampire...draining energy. He didn't suck blood or kill anyone.

message 10: by A (new)

A | 12 comments I remember he was in the chimney or tower or something lol

A | 12 comments I can't find any excerpts or copies with the library. I think I borrowed it from our school library.

message 12: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 1527 comments Amber, there's a couple of blog posts about The Cheerleader which have detailed plot summaries, maybe they would help you remember if it's the right book?

Ambie, which book was your book? We need to move this out of Possibly Solved since it's been 5 years.
