Jeanne (oldemill) | 204 comments For Linda C.
I loved all your choices, so this was really difficult. The southern ladies sounded really great, but I chose Aunt Dimity for you as this is my all time favorite series. But, I will have to put your Southern ladies on my to read list. I hope you are happy with the choice. Happy reading.

Thanks, Sandra, this will finish up this short series for me. And Lorelei King narrates them, so I'm looking forward to listening.

Meg (makeli2) | 1534 comments Finished the first book in the Red Carpet mysteries, Murder on the Red Carpet, and found it to be a quick, easy read. Not perfect but a good read. Getting to the second one soon...

Murder on a Silver Platter (A Red Carpet Catering Mystery, #1) by Shawn Reilly Simmons

Meg (makeli2) | 1534 comments Have completed book two from the Red Carpet series, Murder on the Half Shell (A Red Carpet Catering Mystery, #2) by Shawn Reilly Simmons . A good one, though with some inconsistencies.

I read the first two Aloha Lagoon mysteries in quick succession ( Ukulele Murder (Aloha Lagoon Mysteries #1) by Leslie Langtry Murder on the Aloha Express (Aloha Lagoon Mysteries #2) by Sally J. Smith ) chortling quietly the whole time!

I have liked all of the first four in that series.

message 74: by Barbara (new)

Barbara Sousa | 504 comments Finished the first of my serial reads for the month, Starboard Secrets (Cruise Ship Christian Cozy Mysteries #1) by Hope Callaghan . It was a fun, quick read. I liked it, but didn't love it. Also worth noting (although it didn't bother me), while the front cover identifies the book as a "Cruise Ship cozy," this is also a Christian cozy. Nothing heavy-handed, the MC goes to the ship's chapel and cites a bible verse or two. Still, it might be off-putting to some readers. A brief break and then on to book 2.

message 75: by Gary (new)

Gary Sundell | 794 comments Finished the first of my two. Lots of fun. Will be starting book 2 next weekend. For those who are offended by 4 letter words, some of them get used in this book. Admittedly they are talking in most cases about animal waste and keeping it out of the local creek.

message 76: by Jeanne (new)

Jeanne (oldemill) | 204 comments I finished my first September book by Lorna Barrett - Bookmarked for Death. I had not realized that I had this on my "to read" list for this long, so it is good to check it off. Starting on Bookplate Special next.

message 77: by Anna Catharina (new)

Anna Catharina Last week I finished both September books in only one week. I like Ben Aaronovitchs Peter Grant Series, but they became a little bit boring for me.

message 78: by Marisa (new)

Marisa (moretta) | 421 comments I've finished First Case, the first in my serial read and I've enjoyed it a lot. Now to the second one and, later, waiting to October for the fourth book.

I will confess that I tend to stagger them or they run into each other

message 84: by Barbara (new)

Barbara Sousa | 504 comments Finished my second book for September: Portside Peril (Cruise Ship Christian Cozy Mysteries #2) by Hope Callaghan . I liked it much better than the first book in the series. The characters are really coming into their own.

message 85: by Marisa (new)

Marisa (moretta) | 421 comments I have finished my second book in the challenge: Second Look. I've enjoyed it a lot and I've read it very, very fast. Now, waiting for the fourth book in October, because I want to keep on reading it.

Kristie (kristiesbooknook) | 49 comments I finished both of my books for this month.
Knitting series #14 and #15
Knit to Be Tied (A Knitting Mystery, #14) by Maggie Sefton . Only Skein Deep (A Knitting Mystery #15) by Maggie Sefton

Knit to be Tied was great, loved it. Only Skein Deep was awful, not a cozy in any sense of the word. I have had a love/hate relationship with this series for years, glad to be caught up but do not plan on reading any future books (if there are any)

Helen (helennn) | 1020 comments Finally finished my first for this month, Death at Epsom Downs (Kathryn Ardleigh, #7) by Robin Paige and about to start my second. I started late as I was reading a book for another challenge, and my progress was slowed by travel, when I listen to audiobooks, and the very fine print in the paperback version, which is difficult to read at night in bed.
I'll read another in this series for the challenge, but I'm not sure I will persist with the series.

message 91: by Helen (new)

Helen (helennn) | 1020 comments Finished my second challenge book for the month, Death at Dartmoor (Kathryn Ardleigh, #8) by Robin Paige , just in time. I definitely won't be reading any more of this particular series!

Becky, I think you are referring to me. Each person in the challenge is reading different books. They nominate 5 series, and someone else picks one for them to read, so all of us were reading different books.
If you click on the cover in the post, it will take you to Goodreads reviews of the books. I write a brief review of every book I read. My reviews of the two books in the series that I read should explain why I won't be reading any more!

It's not school Danielle so If you didn't read the books there is no test or failing grade! Sometimes life gets busy and we have less time to read than we would like. Give your self a break!
