In case you're wondering, the difference between familars and regular yokai is that familars are indeeed yokai, but they are looking to become familars as a specific occupation. The elements taken are the elements in which a god or godess rules over. There can be multiple land gods and godesses due to how large the world is, but there cannot be multiple madness gods because madness in itself is a very large subject that stretches across the entire world.
