How much do you value Character interactions in the books you read?

This is just something that I tend to value in a book, but I don't see it as much as I would like in the books I read. By character interactions, I mean conversations going on between different characters that build on personality and a sort of bonding between them. The main character tends to talk with everyone because, well, they're the main character. But between side characters, sometimes the conversations aren't fully fleshed out, or I'll see characters bond with the main character and hardly anyone else.

Is this a noticeable pattern with other people or am I just being waay too nitpicky?

Character interactions are my best parts in books. Sometimes when the mc is having inner monologues for a long time, I scan the book to see when the next conversations are going to happen. And side characters have a habit of becoming my favourite characters. I usually love when they show them interacting
