But this includes pages i-xxii which consists of title pages, front matter, contents, acknowledgements, pronunciation, abbreviations and maps. 392 is blank, 393-409 is subject index, 410-414 are blank. There are an extra 14 pages inserted in the middle of the book with photos and are situated between the pages numbered 168 & 169.
