Hi all can you believe its only a day away from the start of our discussion.
I'll start it off with some questions for JT
Please ask if you have any for her.

JT welcome and thank you for agreeing to participate.
I first wanted to ask you about the book’s dedication.
I know Randy is your husband.
Who is Amy?

JT, they say write what you know and you definitely know your way around a storyline.
What led you to write about authors?

JT, being a blogger and a reviewer I see the very thing you describe every day on social media on both authors and bloggers sites.
It’s disturbing to think that it could escalate to the degree you have it do in your novel, but I can also see where it is possible because some of the comments can become downright volatile between authors and reviewers.
Do you have any personal experience in that department?

J.T. (jtellison) Hello! So glad to be here!

Amy is my intrepid assistant/business manager/co-publisher of Two Tales Press/right hand/right brain... you get the idea. We've been together for almost three years and she is the brains behind the operation. She handles everything from coordinating my social media to publishing books and shorts. She's pretty darn awesome!

J.T. (jtellison) Write what you know -- it's funny, but so many people have told me that, but they also counsel not to write about writers or writing. I've always been a contrarian, and books and movies about writers are some of my favorites, so I decided to chuck their advice and go for it. It was so much fun to have novels inside the novels -- we even see some of Sutton's work product. It was a blast to write -- and a little research lazy on my end, if you know what I mean...

J.T. (jtellison) Regarding the fight Sutton gets into with the reviewer on our fictional book review website: I've not experienced that, thank heavens. I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion and I don't feel the need to challenge them if they don't like the book. It's hard sometimes, especially when the criticism is about something that's not in the book, or it's a misread on the reviewers part, or it's a personal attack, but I stay far, far away from engaging on this level. I've seen too many authors try to defend their work and have it backfire.

As you can tell, I do read my reviews, especially in the first few weeks of a novel. I'm always curious: Did I get it right? Do the twists work? Love the characters, hate the characters. It helps me plan for later novels.

Do you write with either a Pilot Metropolitan or a Blackwing 602 pencil? I thought you may have mentioned them so descriptively because they are personal favorites?

Ang from OZ | 1690 comments Hi JT,

Thanks for joining in with our read!
My question is how did you come up with the name "Sutton" I find that it is a unusual name for a Woman. Or is that because of her Irish decent?

Yep - both! I actually converted someone to the Palomino Pearl today -- that's my current Blackwing favorite. It's fun to use a few of my own loves in the story... : )

Sometimes names just come to me -- and this was one of them. I'd not heard it before as a first name, only a last name, but I loved it and it fit her so well. I wish I'd written myself a note as to where it came from, what sparked it, because it's been a few years since I came up with it!

Ang from OZ | 1690 comments Hi JT, Have you ever been to Paris?

I have, twice. The first was the inspiration for the book, after a few hours at SacraCoeur. The second was to flesh out parts of the book. Both trips were incredible -- I can't wait to go back!

Hi JT! I am a fan of Bill Bass (aka Jefferson Bass) and noticed your reference to the Body Farm. Have you ever been there?

I haven't -- and that's probably just as well. Dr. Bass did a great presentation here several years ago for UT alum, and I got to see a great deal of what they work on through his powerpoints. Fascinating, and for a while I wanted to go, but now I think... no. LOL...

JT, any chance a Holly Graham detective series is in the works?

message 15: by J.T. (new)

J.T. (jtellison) You're not the first to ask -- what I'll say is anytime I build an extraordinary female lead, there's a chance they'll appear again the the Taylor Jackson cosmere... I agree, Holly's pretty darn cool.

Oh I could totally see her kick buttness along with Taylor! :)

Ang from OZ | 1690 comments Yes a Detective Holly series would be great JT!!!!

J.T. (jtellison) One never knows... 😉

Ang from OZ | 1690 comments Who was your favorite character to write in Lie To Me?

J.T. (jtellison) I loved them all, but wow, Anonymous was such a blast. Totally freeing!

Yeah J.T. and you or she did warn us in the first chapter that we weren't going to like her and that was quite the understatement for me. It was a fabulous way to let us in on some secrets while at the same time keeping us in the dark. Very sneaky :)

Sometimes, writers need to gamble. It was risky, but I loved it.
