Simone | 2 comments The book is a fantasy novel told from the point of view of a ghost to a princess. The princess asks him how he became a ghost, and he tells her his story. Back while he was alive the royal wizard at the time asked him to go on a quest to find a precious object/treasure. I can't remember why but the ghost/hero had the ability to heal injuries no matter how serious as long as he had some food. So the ghost/hero goes on the quest with a bag of spell talismans given to him by the royal wizard. A bad wizard messes with the talismans so that they don't cast the spells they are supposed to. The hero goes on his way using some of the spells regardless of mishap, and finds out the precious object is the princess of the kingdom (during his lifetime). They travel back with further spell mishap. The hero/ghost and the princess (of his lifetime) fall in love. When they get back to the castle, they find out that the royal wizard is the evil wizard in disguise and that he (the wizard) wanted the princess back to marry her since he had already taken over the kingdom. The wizard kills the hero/ghost and buries him before anyone can feed him some food. The princess being told the story then asks the ghost where he is buried. She and her pet dragon dig up the body, and feed it. This brings the hero/ghost back to life. They also then find out that one of the ghosts in the castle is the princess that the hero fell in love with. She died shortly after the hero did for refusing to marry the wizard. There are two spells that are left in the bag that was buried with the hero. One of them is a monster banishing spell, and the other is a spell to raise someone from the dead. The first spell they try happens to be the monster banishing spell, and the princess' pet dragon disappears. The next spell brings the ghost princess back to life. Happy ever after.

I don't remember who or how the wizard was defeated. I only remember that the wizard pretended that he had an evil identical twin and blamed all of his own crimes on this evil twin, who turned out to be him.
