well, it looks like this next week will be Shelf #10 ~ 10/11/17: Science Fiction
DIRECT LINK - https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
this will give us another 3 in a row. YAYYYYYYY!
HAHAHAHA!! When I was mentioning my list of 'possible shelves that wont' give us 4 in a row, I almost mentioned that one!!!
Stacie wrote: "I was dreading this shelf"Lots of UF books are shelved there! I read Sci-Fi but I think a couple of the series I want to continue are in there so I may go with one of those...
Stacie wrote: "I was dreading this shelf"If you want Stacie, i have a few suggestions:
Aeronaut's Windless by Jim Butcher - i really liked this one - almost any steampunk books might come up as science ficttion
Turbulance by Lyn Gala
Chaos Station by Jenn Burke
Turbulance and Chaos Station are both m/m
I didn't really think about UF being on the shelf - love the way things are categorized. That opens up lots of possibilities
My problem now is way too many options - for instance there's the Chronicles of St. Mary's, which has been on my tbr forever. There's also Spider Robinson's books, which are comfort reads I haven't picked up in years. There's Every Heart a Doorway which I meant to pick last week....................... I think I'll wait until Friday to pick and see if anything springs out.

The link tells me that nothing has been shelved. I'll go to the main thread.
It appears that BarbaraAnn copy/pasted which doesn't work for links :(You need to click on the link then copy/paste from the address bar :)
Stacie wrote: "I just got
from the library which is tagged 39 times as science fiction so yay!!"You see? You were the first one of us to pick a book!
I want to read both books so much that I can't decide!!!
Sandra wrote: "I keep meaning to start this series D.G. :)"It's so worth it! I recommend it to everybody I meet. :)
Hey D.G. I wanted to let you know I'm going out of town Wednesday to Saturday. Headed to NYC with my mom. I hope to be able to check in but internet and stuff might be spotty. It will be hard for me to get a book there so I may not be able to do anything until Saturday night when I get back home. I'll do my best though. Here's hoping the call is for something I have.
Shelf #10 ~ 10/11/17: Science FictionI'm reading Azimuth by Arshad Ahsanuddin which is tagged 12 times as science fiction
Stacie wrote: "Hey D.G. I wanted to let you know I'm going out of town Wednesday to Saturday. Headed to NYC with my mom. I hope to be able to check in but internet and stuff might be spotty. It will be hard for m..."No worries, Stacie!
You're coming to my neck of the woods! Please let me know if you'd like any recommendations of things to do/places to eat!!
Shelf #10: Science Fiction
Date finished/Rating: 10/14 ★★★★½
Review: This was amazing! Finally we got answers to questions that have been plaguing us. Julius as usual was just so good and brave, always willing to dream where everybody would have given up. The parts with Marcy though were so complicated that at times I couldn't follow and that's why this isn't a fully 5 stars. Can't wait until book 5!

Mom is a HUGE Project Runway fan so she HAS to go to Mood she tells me. I've been trying to get her to look at restaurants because I'm a planner but she is being a pain, like moms are sometimes. Anything you can recommend that isn't too fancy in that area would be great!
Ooh let me think about it! I'm more of a downtown person...are you going to Ground Zero or the new World Trade Center? I work around there so I know lots of places in that area (and there's tons of to do and see...) Also, what do you guys like? My biggest advice is...don't eat in restaurant chains! There are a lot of very good, (not that expensive) restaurants in the City.
Probably not, I think we're going to stay Midtown. If it were just me, I'd be everywhere but with Mom, I'm not so sure. Near the hotel I saw like 10 Thai restaurants. We won't be eating in chains if I can help it!! I've just been looking at the map and clicking on names of places and looking at their websites. Going with Mom will be much different than I'm used to but this is what she wanted to do for her 60th birthday.
If it's her birthday, definitely do whatever she likes! :) There are lots of things to do around there: Central Park, The Intrepid Museum, 5th Avenue stores (although because of the Trump Tower, it's very messy around there...)I found this article about midtown west restaurants - it has all types of restaurants from fine cuisine to street carts so check it carefully:

Thank you! PS I love First We Feast. My husband told me about their youtube channel and they have a show that's just celebs being interviewed while eating hot wings. Somehow I got sucked into watching it for 3 hours straight LOL.

Completion PostShelf: Magical Realism
Book: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
How it fits: 31 times as magical realism
Pages: 396/GR
Date: 10/6/17
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
I had heard of this book and planned to read it many times in the past few years, but just never got around to actually reading it - I'm glad that I finally did. Percy is someone you could root for, Grover is hilarious, and Annabeth is smart. I plan to continue with this series.

Sorry. Got it posted now. :)
There are only 3 non-winning shelves:Aliens
Guilty Pleasures
UF
The good news is that if any of them are called, we'll FINALLY get 4 in a row and will be in contention for the following week. Both UF and GP give us 4-in a row twice so given our luck, we'll either get aliens or a winning shelf for another team! :p
As expected, luck was against us! Shelf #11 ~ 10/18/17: Published 2015
DIRECT LINK - https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
That's the winning shelf for team 16 and they are the only ones. I don't think I'm up to reading it ...what about you guys?
Hi - I'd say they probably have this one in the bag. If it looks like the game will continue another week, I can pick up a 2015 book over the weekend. It's been a lot of fun everyone. Thanks!
It was a pleasure playing with you gals! See you around and I hope we play together in another game soon!
CONGRATULATIONS, Napping Snipers! You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'magical realism'.
