Review:
This was the book in the trilogy I was really looking forward to re-reading because there was a bit of a build up to the romance in the first two books. But once I got into it again, the romance wasn't as intense as I remember from my first reading. It was still sweet but I just remembered it being a little more powerful. This book seemed to focus a little more on the ghost story, wrapping that up, than exploring and developing the romance. Which is weird that my memory is kind of opposite of that. But that's what memory will do to you, I guess. Even so, I have no complaints. I enjoyed the re-read.

Book: Pleasure by Jacquelyn Frank
Date Read: 10-16-17
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
Pleasure is actually two stories - Sagan & Valera and Guin & Malaya. I gave this 4 stars because I wanted so much more of Sagan & Valera...at the very least a novella. Their story had so much potential and I felt it deserved more than a couple of chapters at the very beginning of the book.
Besides that - excellent book. Guin & Malaya's story was wonderful. It was a great finish to the series.

Review:
The more I read this series the more I like and love it. I think each book has gotten better. One thing that has been pretty consistent is the snarky almost flippant way each heroine treats life as compared to our heroes who are pretty much all broody serious alpha males. It hasn't gotten old yet. In this story I really felt the angst and almost befuddlement that Rydstrom felt in trying to understand this creature that was his mate. And it felt right to see Sabine's gradual slide into love with him. There wasn't some big moment for her, it was that her thoughts, attitude about him, herself and Omort did a slow 180. I really really enjoyed this one!

Shelf #10 - Science Fiction

Lock In
Rating: ★★★
Completed: 10/20
Final Thoughts:
As usual I adored Wil Wheaton's narration of the audiobook. The story itself was pretty good. It took me a while to get the full picture in my head. But once it all started to make sense and I could picture it the rest of the story rolled on pretty smoothly.

Final Thoughts:
Good strong collection of stories. My favorite was The Harder They Fall because I'm a big fan of daddy kink and this story was written very well. My least favorite was probably Master Key. It was one of the longer ones but it really wasn't very interesting. I was just really bored through the whole thing.

Book: The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury
Date Read: 10-22-17
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
I received the audio of this book free from a summer program I was in a couple of summers ago (AudioFile, I believe it was) so it's been in my TBR pile for awhile. I hated the choices offered with this shelf so truth be told I started listening to this a bit grudgingly and I'm really glad I stuck with it.
The story moved a little slow but I think it was necessary not only for the world building but for Twylla and Lief's relationship to develop in a way that allowed for the reader to connect with them. I think if the relationship had developed any faster the ending would not have had the impact that it did.
I enjoyed the love triangle in this because it was not the focal point of the story and I actually liked both Lief and Merek. The "sin eating" thing was a bit creepy so there was an element of darkness in the story.
I also chose this book because I thought it was a standalone and I did not want to start another series. Well I was wrong on that and because I have to find out who was knocking on the door I will be continuing on to the second book The Sleeping Prince.

Review:
Daredevil stuntman Adam Campbell returns to the family ranch to recover after a serious accident that cost his best friend's life. There, he is reunited with his high school girlfriend Bailey, who is now working at the ranch and learning the family trade.
They are each other's one that got away due to bad timing, since Adam had dreams that Bailey wanted him to pursue and they amicably broke up right after high school. Things are different now, however, with Bailey once again providing valuable support to Adam, who is not willing to let her go a second time.
Engaging short story introducing the Campbell family and the couple of the next book, Grant, Adam's brother and Bailey's sister.

Thanks Sandra, I just did. :)
We're also one book away from our Published 2015 stamp. Well done team!

Somewhat short and sweet little romance! It was also funny and poignant and a great peek out how Greg and Fiona got together. The perfect appetizer for the next book.

It's been great reading with you all. I hope we get to team up again in a future round. :)
A big thanks to Sandra and all the ninjas for all your hard work!

The shelves actually come from the books that are tagged with shelf names. So if a book has that shelf name, it works. Especially as now GR is only giving us 25 pages on the popular shelves links. And as seen on the Science Fiction list, many duplicates, so even less than 25 pgs in reality.
