I have never seen sweeter words than when at the end of the book, there was a page saying that this series will continue in 2018. As I got closer and closer to the end, I kept thinking, 'I don't want to leave this world' because there is just so much left to explore. That's not to say this one didn't deliver a satisfying ending to Feyre's story because it definitely did. In fact, I can't think of one slow moment in the entire book, and that's saying something for a book of this size. There were plenty of moments of edge of your seat action, and I stayed up well into the night to find out how it all was going to end. I'm so happy that I won't have to say goodbye to this world and these characters just yet.

does anyone know if this one has to be on the linked shelf or if it can be any debut novel?

12 MYTHOLOGY-INSPIRED YOUNG ADULT NOVELS
The only one on the list that I've read is The Chaos of Stars. I really liked it (Egyptian mythology is kinda hard to come by)!

I added Bull to my TBR. I think a re-imagining of the minotaur story written in verse sounds like something I have to see!

I put these on my wishlist:

These are my favorite YA mythological books/series:

and of course the Percy Jackson series
For non-YA mythological, I really like these:

What are your favorites?

Anything by Neil Gaiman, especially:
The whole Sandman run:

And

Kevin Hearne's

I will always have a special place in my heart for Sherrilyn Kenyon's Darkhunters - this was the series that really launched my love for PNR and it was largely b/c of Artemis & the other gods meddling in the lives of humans & supernatural creatures alike.
ALL of the Rick Riordan stuff:

review: I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, but it was interesting. Ari is searching for her birth mother and it leads her to N2 (New Orleans was leveled then bought by 9 families and is a haven for the "different"). Once there she hooks up with a group of kids and they help her on her quest which leads her to find out there is a lot more in the worlds than she thought possible. There is insta-love with Sebastian, but it wasn't too annoying. I will read the next one.

I reeeallly liked this book. The first time I picked it up was immediately after I read Girls on Fire. I stopped reading The Girls before finishing the first chapter because I was still too invested in Wasserman's book and wasn't prepared to switch gears. I'm extremely glad that I waited to read this one because The Girls is freaking fantastic and my opinion of this book would definitely have been colored by comparisons.
The Girls is loosely based on the Manson Family insanity but is really about a fourteen-year-old girl on the periphery. Evie wants to belong so bad that it's uncomfortable to watch. She's so desperate for love/attention/connection that it's easy to see how she is sucked in by Russell's ideology and Suzanne in particular. No one in this book is particularly likable but it's super intense and maybe that's what kept me reading.
I want to reiterate that this one is about a fourteen-year-old girl on the outside looking in. It is not about the murders. It is not about the charismatic leader. (I think maybe this accounts for some of the reviews by disappointed readers.) Evie is invited to The Farm but even as she lives among them, she's still an outsider. She is never actually accepted as part of the group. This gives her a truly unique perspective. To add even more depth, we not only hear the story from her first account experience but we also get snippets from her grown up point of view looking back.
Emma Cline did a fantastic job weaving this story. I really couldn't believe that I was reading a debut novel. The writing was just beautiful.

This one surprised me. I wasn't really in the mood for it, but once I started it, I had a very hard time putting it down. It's really easy to slip into this world and get carried away. There were some things that really surprised me, although I did guess one thing that happened towards the end. That being said, it didn't affect my enjoyment of the book at all. I'm definitely going to be reading the next one, probably sooner rather than later.

Yikes! I hope things slow down! I would hate for it to be over so soon!

I hope you enjoy it! I love the Dresden Files!

I'm glad you like Red Queen! that one has been on my TBR for a while. I might have to move it up!

I'm totally a sucker for shape shifters ... but werewolves especially. I loved that there were all different types of werewolves in this story. I think I'll have to go back & re-read the part where Bob describes them. I enjoyed this installment of The Dresden Files more than the first. I am looking forward to book 3!

It was great to finally get Jordan and Katie's story, although it was full of more challenges than expected since they were both infected by the virus at the start of this book (10 years later than the last one). And while they got their happy ending, things weren't so great for a couple other favorites. Good to see all the characters and the story keep going and looking forward to the next one.

This one certainly deserved to be on the action packed list. I had a very hard time putting the book down because there was never a time when I thought "Here's a good place to stop for the night." I would usually only stop when my Kindle actually fell on me after accidentally falling asleep because it was so late lol. I don't want to give anything away, so suffice to say that I think people who enjoyed the first one will be pleased by this one as well. With the way things were left, I'm definitely wanting to read book 3 sooner rather than later!
