I have even purchased a book the supposedly gives you the books in order with short re-caps, and still didn't find the book I want to read..

The specifics as I remember them: this book was at the beginning of the series, featured a young policewoman who hated Eve and did everything she could to discredit Eve until the policewoman was murdered. Now Eve is under suspicion and is very depressed and unlike herself.
