Dan Rogers The secret group that Lev meets with says that they are about chaos and disorder, but what do you think their true motives actually are?

Dan Rogers I think that Cleaver or maybe even all three of them are looking to move into a more powerful position amongst the unwinds at the graveyard. By spreading fear and uncertainty, they could capitalize in that and rise to power over all of the kids. Once they have a strong enough backing they may be able to lash out at the people who are causing the demand for unwinding.

Amber Since they advertise chaos and disorder instead of taking down unwinding, the recruiting for the group targets the traumatized, angsty teens. If that group does have a plan to use its power to take down the system it seems likely that it will exploit the ignorant and abused children instead of actually making sure the people it is looking to save are cared for. While it may certainly be a more effective strategy than trying to convince the kids of whatever strategy it wants to use it also kind of ignores the problem and in the short term still screws over the kids.

I finished the dystology so I know what happens but if that were the case I can't see it actually being a good thing for the actual kids even if it did aim at stopping unwinding

Tiara Having just finished the first book, Cleaver's group seems to be rebelling against power. That rebellion extends to the larger government, outside of the graveyard, hence the clappers at Happy Jack. I thought it odd that The Admiral never suspected Cleaver of having ulterior motives. He was supposed to be his trusted, right-hand man so that part was a bit iffy. However, it does seem realistic that Lev (and Mai, after reading her story with Vincent) would gravitate toward that group. The group could be a remnant of the forces that were sent in to stop the war but then they saw that the war was funded by the government and rebelled. This is all guesswork, of course.

Amber Yeah but unlike the ADR it seems like its agenda is less specific and they are certainly more proactive than the ADR which just gives underground help. I think it a place where the most desperate kids, tired of being oppressed end up.
I don't know if The Admiral trusted much of anyone except maybe The Golden ones. I think Cleaver was just under his radar.
