Pride and Prejudice
question
do you not want to punch super-nice people in the face once in a while?(a.k.a. jane)
Jane is actually someone I draw inspiration from. There's so much strength in controlling your emotions- and she does it so well, it's so admirable. I honestly wish some people could be a little bit more like her and just see the good in the world and not promote conflict or violence.
I agree with the above person in that Jane is a good role model and certainly not someone on who you should wish violence! However if you just find her irritating or boring that is your opinion. I myself do particularly like her but I don't hate her.
Why would you want to do that?
Nah, I usually swing at the bullies and snooty hypocrites first. SO much more satisfying! ;D
Let's save the violence for the bullies and the snobs, not waste it on the nice people who make the world a little better.
Why in the world would anyone want to harm someone for being nice?
To me, Jane is someone who is slow to judge, quick to look for extenuating circumstances, in touch with natural compassion within herself, willing to offer second chances if at all possible, who doesn't hold grudges, and is very considerate of how other people feel. She's someone who can help bring out the best in people because she's always desirous of knowing the best in other people.True she's young and naive, and surely will expand and deepen her perspective as she matures. But she's on her way to enlarging her perspective guided by kindness rather than disregard or cynicism, which bodes well for her future in my opinion.

Jacqueline said it best.
Nope, if that is how she finds peace in her life more power to her. We should all find a way to do that.
Actually, I think it was brilliant of Austen to point out that just as being headstrong can lead to problems, being too reticent, as Jane is, can lead to problems, too!
