The Dark Prophecy question

I too felt so in the Trials of Apollo series but i felt a bit sorry for the calypso she robbed of love ,right?Still she is rude i dont like her character at all .not much of importance too a tiny character in the book .

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that I actually like her... :)

Leo is such a big character that I think he needs someone to ground him a bit (i.e. Annabeth to Percy). Calypso is dealing with some major changes in her life -- specifically going from living on a magical island for millenia to basically loosing her powers and having to reteach herself everything -- so I'm willing to give her some slack.

I think we're also getting a pretty narrow view of her from Apollo's perspective, who she definitely dislikes so she's probably harder on him then other characters. Like he said, he did advocate for her to have a longer sentence when the other gods were debating her sentence. Probably not the best way to get on her good side.

She was cool, once upon a time in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, when she was so fun, and cool, then in the Heroes of Olympus series, she was okay, specifically when she was yelling at Leo, (because I hate Leo). But then in the Hidden Oracle, she was so... annoying, and stupid. And she calls him "babe" what's up with that? I thought she was an over a thousand year old titan, but now she's a stupid little teenager who happens to be waaaaaaaaaaaay older than her dumb little boyfriend, and they call each other "babe" and "Hunk Muffin". While I'm ranting about Leo and Calypso, let's get on the topic of Harley. First off, what kind of a name is Harley? Second, why is he so obsessed with finding Leo? They didn't even know each other for that long, and he's in the Heroes of Olympus books about... three times, and then, suddenly, Leo's his role model, and he misses him so much, and Leo misses his "H-Meister". Third, why, why, why is that child SO violent?
In conclusion, I hate Calypso.

Personally, Calypso's character is actually okay. However, her character development with Leo is not very good. Don't hate on me, but I am not a big fan of Caleo. There are some parts of the book where I can't really tell if Calypso actually liked Leo. I think if Calypso had more of a story and was developed better then I would like it a lot better. For now, it's a little bland and is more of a plot device than a character.

I love Calypso! In the Percy Jackson series, Calypso was the biggest ‘what if?’ And when Rick brought her back you just gotta be relived that she finally found a way out and someone who could stay with her for ever! Caleo is my second fav ship. Of course percabeth rules, but after that I love caleo

She's an okay character. I think the difference between her and the other characters is that Uncle Rick tries to pull more aspects of her personality from the myths than coming up with a new character.

Ummm, no pls. At first, she was mean, I agree. He'd just landed on her island and the fact that she's being punished, she's obviously pissed when people land on her island and then leave her. I mean, I'd be pretty pissed to but you know. Soon enough they fall in the clutches of love and he doesn't leave her like all the others did, which is a starter. And maybe shes not interesting in this book but, well, she is. It's just that Uncle Rick hasn't emphasised on her much, maybe because she's just like an "extra character". Also, there are many book that are related to calypso. Maybe Uncle Rick did it on purpose, maybe he didn't.

Wasn't a big fan of her and Leo in this one. I felt indifferent about Calypso in PJO/HoO but I didn't really like her in TDP. She felt waaay too much like Annabeth. Annabeth is a great character but she still has her flaws and Calypso felt like a bunch of Annabeth’s bad traits. She’s pretty...violent for instance (not saying Annabeth is abusive or violent but she sort of makes me uncomfortable sometimes; like the judo flip which is played for laughs but isn’t the best Annabeth moment) and pretty irritable which I get but she just gave me some unlikeable vibes. Like the ice queen kind of trope (which I really don’t like) I guess? I don’t know how to explain it. Just didn’t like how she treated Leo as well and how rude she just came off as. The way she acted seemed really similar to Annabeth for whatever reason while Leo just felt like a discount Percy. (I’ve always found Leo decent but just boring with really forced humor. Both Calypso and Leo just seemed super similar to previous characters with the same dynamics which just made me dislike them even more.) She also felt really boring.

I dont think shes that important either I mean sure shes cute,funny,rude whatever but shes just...you know not like the other cool female characters rick has..She does not have any specific powers or fighting skills so I think they should have picked someone more exiting for the quest.
