Mariel Grey | 123 comments For me it's the most precious commodity of all (after my family) and that's TIME. There are not enough hours in the day for me (though I must admit I have back problems too!).

Paul Spence (paulbspence) | 3 comments Removing stress from my life seems to do it for me. I have to get into a kind of Zen mood when writing. I don't let the cares of the world, deadlines, work, or anything else intrude.

Relax.
Breathe deep.
Write.

My back is always fine. Shrug.

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 2274 comments The organization or getting it all together and wondering what to do next would be 2nd for me. If I feel my back getting tense well I call for a break and go back to it later.

Marc Nash (sulci) | 754 comments When I'm writing a large project, it's insomnia as the mind is racing ahead to the next bit demanding to be written already, in the middle of the night, not to have to wait till tomorrow. When I retire to bed, the adrenalin and ideas are still pumping through my body and it takes at least 2 hours before they slow down for me to have any chance of dropping off to sleep.

Having said all that, it is something I've come to an accommodation with and accept it as a price well worth paying for me.

Oddly enough I don't experience that much when writing, but it happens to me whenever I compose a new piece of music. With writing, I might fall asleep and dream about the story but with composition the music just plays all the time at high volume in my head. It is similar to having an earworm, but worse!

Marc Nash (sulci) | 754 comments I write stories from earworms! :-)

Lisa Marie Gabriel (lisamariegabriel) | 207 comments Yep! I write them from dreams. :D

Marc Nash (sulci) | 754 comments I don't dream in pictures, only in words. They sort of unfurl as oral narratives if that makes any sense
