Book #3, Ride The Storm, has not been published. Last we heard there may be a partial manuscript and Dean would still like to publish Chris Snow, Book 3 with Random House/Bantam in the future.

Both titles should be available from most local libraries if you don't want to purchase them.

OH MAN !! I literally just finished this one a few weeks ago, but im actually excited for this discussion cause there were some things that I found confusing.
This is one of my favorite Koontz books. I won't start it until the 1st though. Disciplining myself.
I love that Seize the Night is going to be our Halloween time read. October is an absolutely ideal time for such a spooky tale.

We can always add another one for Halloween if a few people are interested & agree on an additional title :-)
Please post in the Mini Group Read Discussion Thread if interested: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I have started Fear Nothing which precedes Seize the Night in the Moonlight series with Chris Snow as the main character.
So I was just totally hipster and read a couple of chapters of this at a Starbucks lol. I mean, reading MUST be done in the presence of other people, right? Lol. I'm almost a quarter of the way through and am enjoying my return trip to Moonlight Bay.
Thanks Matthew. I am a bit behind on my reading schedule due to an unexpected incident and an extremely busy time at work, but I still plan on re-reading the Chris Snow series in the future.
A interesting item is Chris Snow born with "XP" - Xeroderma Pigmentosum - skin cancer when exposed to light, but an advantage to "see in the dark"??
Chris being somewhat of an outcast from society ends up being asset as well. Sort of a cool twist for Uncle Dean that the outsider in this book is our hero whereas the villains are usually outcasts (in Watchers the monster is literally called The Outsider).
Because they are told in the first person both Snow books feel like long journals which I just love.
How do folks enjoy the dialogue in this book and Seize the Night? I find the conversations between Christopher and Bobby lighten the mood juuuust enough without becoming outright silly. And, of course, Bobby's few of life is very interesting to me.
Started re-reading Fear Nothing yesterday for the fourth time. So many similarities & connections to Odd Thomas and other Dean Koontz Books.
I was reading friend reviews of Fear Nothing yesterday and someone wrote that Fear Nothing was her favorite "Odd Book" which I found interesting. I do see some similarities and connections - like in most Koontz writing.
My favorite Odd Book was actually Odd Interlude in which we have characters visiting Wyvern.
I remember in the Odd Adventures how they found that Mystery Train hat and how in other books such as Relentless, a character will wear shirts with significant words written on them.

Most certainly. I like that the humor is more subtle than the Odd Thomas Books. I also enjoy the dialogue between Chris Snow and his dog Orson ha ha ha.

I still haven't read much, but this is quite brilliant. Brilliant writing and story. I'm really curious to see what's happening.
I'm 59% finished having really gotten into reading last night and even early this morning. (Now that I am retired, I refuse to get up while it is still dark outside ) I know people have complained when Koontz gets into philosophy but I really loved a lot of it in this book. Of course I love Orson; that goes without saying. Reading this the first time was the first I'd ever heard of XP. It was good to learn about it. Even though I first read this I don't know how many years ago, the information seemed fresh.
As a testament to how good the dialogue in this book is, I generally found the discussions about the monkeys creepier than the monkeys themselves.
I love the literary name references such as Orson Wells and T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats
Might as well start Seize the Night this weekend :-) October is upon us! We are also featuring Strange Highways in October.
Finished yesterday. Really enjoyed it. Wasn't going to go on to #2, but now I will. Just put it on hold at the library.
I just picked up the first book in this series and I usually stay away from books with animals in them could someone tell me if I should continue reading, I can't watch the lion king if that gauges how sensitive I am to animal related things lol
