Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 560 comments I've been trying to book a Kindle Countdown Deal. I started about 20 hours ago and a little sign came up saying it's not working and they're trying to fix it.

Has anyone else noticed this? I only ask because Amazon don't usually take that long to fix something.

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) Did you try logging out or clearing cache? I've had that error before and it usually came right back up for me after I closed out and tried again.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 560 comments Thank you, Christina, but yes, I have closed out several times and even shut down the pc overnight. I've just tried again. I haven't cleared the cache though (forgotten how to do this).

I'm worried that Amazon are winding down KCDs and I've just missed the boat for the one I am planning.

Their actual wording is, "The service or feature you're trying to use is currently unavailable. We're working to solve the problem as quickly as possible. Please try again later."

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) Well it is the first of the month, so I'd be more inclined to think that they're doing some sort of routine maintenance rather than removing services with no sort of announcement. Especially given that they're usually pretty good about telling us when a major change will happen.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 560 comments I'm a worrier - what if my precious KCD's are taken away from me?!! They are usually so quick and I'm wondering if it is just my pc with hiccups!

Yes, I had the same problem today. I sent their support team an e-mail. Hopefully, they get it fixed soon, because I've already booked promo dates!

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 560 comments Phew! It is fixed! Thank you, Ken, I now know it wasn't my pc. I also have promo dates to work towards. Hard work, isn't it? But I love it!

I received a canned response from KDP Support, but the system was already fixed by then. Yes, the work never ends, but it's fun. I think writing is the easy part :)
