June (grandmanmom-teacher) | 4 comments I enjoyed reading the book, and I'm anxious to see others comments on it. I really liked the multicultural aspect and the writer's craft and intertwining 4 short stories into one larger story. I was very impressed with the "Souls" ability to make the most of life once they were together, and how they helped their teacher integrate back into the society of school teaching. I loved Julian's creativity in gathering 3 others to form their special group.

Leslie | 16 comments The story was a bit confusing. I am still not sure I ever caught on to how everyone was tied together. And I didn't caught how each students life experience helped them to answer their question. But I think it was well written and had good message. I was a bit disappointed in some if the kids' behavior like Ethan ignoring the other kid in public and the girl who had a pout\tantrum and stopped talking to the adults. However, they are just kids and we must all male mistakes to learn from them. I passed my book along to my son's sixth grade classroom.
