I always like how Clare ends the books on a slight cliffhanger. She always resolves the main plot points, so you feel alright with how the story ends. However, there are always further unanswered questions that make you want to continue and read the next book in the series.

I agree. I think I like Raphael because, although he is a vampire and has his own agenda, he is somewhat of a good character. He is usually reasonable or helpful when negotiating with the MCs. He also still visits his family, which shows that he retains his humanity despite no longer being human.
