dany (elothwen)Do not godmod.
Godmodding is when a character features god-like abilities, such as invincibility or mind control, or other unrealistic powers that don't fit with lore. It's also considered godmodding to refuse death in fights or ignore roleplayers in scenarios in which said roleplayers are attempting to attack you. Nobody's good at everything; try to keep yourself in check.

Do not metagame.
Metagaming is when a player applies out of character-retrieved information to their character. Your character can not know about important events that happened in another place just because you, the roleplayer, know about the event.

Do not mix in character and out of character.
If someone's character is insulting your character, do not take it personally. They are not talking to you.

Do not "auto".
"Autoing" is automatically doing something without course of action; for example, hitting someone without warning or arriving at a location without mentioning it first.

Do not change the plot or add things to it in your roleplay.
If I didn't say there was a war of 2055, then there was not a war of 2055. What I say is correct, what you say is not.

Do not powerplay.
Powerplaying occurs when a player operates someone else's character without the other player's consent. The most blatant example of this would be a player writing, "Your character falls off the cliff when he walks up to it." As you can see, you take active control of what the other character does. Not only is this not fair to the other player, but it's also discouraged because often players will misconstrue the behaviors and personalities of characters they didn't design.

Do not make Mary-Sues.
A Mary-Sue is a specific kind of character that is usually considered literarily reprehensible and otherwise unpleasant for others to play alongside. A Mary-Sue is any character (of any gender, age, race, or species) who fits one or more of these descriptions:
~A character who’s too perfect, lacking realistic or logical flaws, or whose flaws do not affect them in real ways.
~A character who’s exactly like their creator, except idealized or made “better”. (E.g. more attractive, smarter, given skills, abilities & powers the creator wishes they could have.) Essentially, the creator is inserting themselves into the story, but without the flaws, quirks & limits that make them interesting and real. Users are often discouraged from creating characters who would be described as, "He's based off me," especially since that comes with the extra risk of violating the avoid mixing ic and ooc rule.
~A character who’s far too powerful, especially whose abilities exceed that which is possible for his/her race in the setting of the story. Particularly if said character has abilities that do not exist within the boundaries of the story’s world. Often these characters are technically legitimate, but are very, "Look at how unique and cool I am!"

Respect everyone.
Respect the mods' power and respect your fellow roleplayers.

Stay PG-13.
Cussing and sexual references are fine, but if I see any actual sex it will be deleted immediately and you will be kicked from the group.

Keep chatting in roleplay threads to a minimum.
If, for some reason, you do need to talk in a roleplay thread, use ((double parentheses)) and put it in a spoiler. Delete any floating messages when you're done.

Be detailed.
As this is an advanced roleplay, I expect at least six sentences every post. Use correct grammar and spelling at all times; use text speak only if your character is actually texting or you're talking out of character.

No thread-hijacking.
If you wish to roleplay in a thread someone is already in, ask first. There will be plenty of roleplay threads so this won't be hard.

Be mindful of your characters.
Be detailed and creative. Don't make ten females and no males; try to keep it even. Three girls and one guy is okay, but make sure your next character is a guy.

Be active.
If you join and don't make any comments within the period of a week, you will be kicked. Remember, introduce yourselves, make face claims, make characters, and roleplay!

Stay true to the plot.
Read the plot and all the information threads in order to actually know what's going on within the roleplay.
