Sonia | 5 comments Hi everyone :) I'm a teenage girl who loves YA, especially science-fiction and dystopia. I've already finished The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner trilogy, I'm about to finish the Divergent and the Infernal Devices series and now I have no idea what book series to read next. So, I would love to hear your recommendations! Please just explain a tiny bit what the series is about (of course you don't have to do a detailled resume if you don't want to! just a few sentence so I know what it's about haha) I will check all of your suggestions out of course, and thank you so so much already, to anyone that will help me out!
xx

Kathleen (kgiffin123) Have you read the Tigers saga? It's an amazing series. It's about a girl who has to break a curse that two princes are under. So far they're my favorite books.

Sofia | 16 comments Have you read the mortal instruments? I'm sure you probably have heard of them, but is seriously a fantastic read. It's about a girl names clary who realizes she's part of a hidden world of shadowhunters that protect the world and her adventures

Yesss! I love the mortal instruments! I totally forgot to mention it in my original post though. It's what made me read the infernal devices and it's one of my faves :)

Ashley | 203 comments Have you read vampire Academy by Richelle Mead? It's about a half vampire girl named Rose who's training to become a guardian for her best friend. And if you have read those I would recommend the spinoff series bloodlines which is about an alchemist named Sydney Who has to protect a royal princess from the undead vampires. Both of these series are amazing!!!

Sean Radecki | 7 comments Have you read Percy Jackson Series
It is centered around Greek Mythology
It is about a boy who finds out he is the son of Poisedon (the god of the sea), and he goes on adventures, with Anabeth, the daughter of Athena (goddess of Wisdom), and Grover, a satyr.
It is really good and there is a spin-off series

Sofia | 16 comments Yea the Lux series is one of my favorites, a great read!

message 12: by Sofia (new)

Sofia | 16 comments The Lux series, as previously mentioned, is about a girl named Katie who befriends her neighbor Dee and finds out that she's actually an alien, which leads to various adventures with Dee's twin, Daemon, against the bad aliens and the government. It's a reeeeeaallyyy good series!

And Katy is super awesome too!i'm not really into aliens but this book was something else entirely!!! plus there's Daemon in it so...

message 14: by Sofia (new)

Sofia | 16 comments And yea I've read TVA, I know a lot of people really love that series, but personally I feel like it's too dragged out, especially in the later books. I just couldn't get that attached to the plot later on, and I hate when characters can't decide on their feelings so they spend half the book discussing them

message 15: by Sofia (new)

Sofia | 16 comments Lol yess, Daemon is on the top of my book boyfriend list, he is just perfect!!! And quite snarky.

do you also think the dude on the cover of obsidian looks like Daemon??cause he was perfect for the cover:P

message 17: by Sofia (new)

Sofia | 16 comments Yea but I don't like their Katie, I imagined her completely different. I like to imagine my own versions of the characters and modify them a little as the story goes on. That's why the movies often frustrate me, because the actors are so predictable and they never choose the actor or actress to match the character, they choose who would sell best.

EXACTLY!!!that's why the city of bones movie was so irritating!! you know that they are engaged in real life right??

Also, Legendis really good. Here is the description:
What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths - until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

Full of nonstop action, suspense, and romance, this novel is sure to move readers as much as it thrills.

You might like Sweet Evil

message 28: by Sofia (new)

Sofia | 16 comments I already read the sweet evil trilogy, I didn't think it was that good, the characters were very one sided and unrealistic, like Anna could do no wrong with her extreme innocence.

That is true, she was very innocent. Wow, seem like you have read a lot of books :) I also like Legend by Marie Lu. Do you have any reccomendations for me?

How are you liking Divergent? I thought it was pretty good, but not one of my absolute favorties

message 33: by Sofia (new)

Sofia | 16 comments If you like the concept of sweet evil and such, my personal favorites are the Revenant series by Amy Plum (awesome series, really sweet!), the Blue Blood series by Melissa de la Cruz (older series but really good plot and character development), and my top fav is the Violet Eden Chapters, also known as the Embrace series, by Jessica Shirvington. It's by an Australian author and the series is not as known but it is amaaazingggg, kinda similar to Reckless Magic with the whole star-crossed lovers thing and a kick butt heroine. If you like fairy stories, the Wings series is a personal favorite. Also, the Darkest Powers series is pretty interesting, it has a little less romance than most but still a great read.

For the dystopian reader, id suggest Disruption also by Jessica Shirvington, Delirium by Lauren Oliver, the Matched series is pretty good, and Frozen from Melissa de la Cruz. They all have good romances but also solid dystopian settings ;)

message 34: by Sofia (new)

Sofia | 16 comments Divergent is also a really good series, tho series has some plot twists (no spoilers ;)) and the Lux series has one of the best romances I've ever read with a very reliable main character. It turns out her next door neighbors are aliens who are hiding from another race of bad aliens, while the government is up to something themselves and Katie has many adventures with Daemon, Dee and the other aliens. The last book in the series, Opposition, is actually coming out this Tuesday

message 48: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Ramirez (melissaramirez) | 281 comments The Twilight books aren't too bad, in my opinion. I mean, it's not Pulitzer Prize material; so don't be expecting a totally mind-blowing experience...but something tells me you already know this.

Just take them at face-value, and I think you'll enjoy them. The movies are just a giant cheese-fest, though...so make sure you've got your best friends with you when you watch them - it's more fun that way!
