Marcy (sonadora9) | 12 comments I've been trying to remember this book for a while now -- I believe I read it in middle school or possibly my freshman year of high school (though not as a part of any class schedule), so it was published prior to 2001; if I had to guess when it was published, I'd think sometime in the 90s, at the earliest the 80s -- it was not a terribly old book.

The book had two narrators, I believe both female, and their narrations drove to the point where their storylines connected. You had to flip the book over to read the second narrator's storyline, and if I remember correctly, she was a Latina who had either recently entered the US or whose family had recently entered the US, and she/they were struggling to get by. I don't remember much about the other narrator. :-/

oliviasbooks | 189 comments There is, for instance Sisters...No Way!: Cindy's Diary, Ashling's Diary. The time frame matches. The diaries meet in the middle, but there is no Latino family. The families of the two teenage girls patchwork and they hate each other first. I loved it.

Kitty | 320 comments This sort of reminds me of a series of books but I can't remember the name. They all had two narrators and met in the middle, I keep thinking both sides or two sides of history.

Marcy (sonadora9) | 12 comments "Sisters...No Way!" sounds interesting but definitely isn't the one I was thinking of.

(Commenting in part to bump. Still wondering about the title of this book.)

Marcy (sonadora9) | 12 comments An update to this thread to share the happy news that I found it! The book I read was Sisters =: Hermanas. Finally found a cover image that confirmed it -- that's definitely what I remember.
