Is there a way to delete incorrect authors?

Charles Lamb is the actual author of the first; Charles Lamb, Mary Lamb are the two authors of the second one. Is there a way to delete incorrect author profiles? Or do they go away once the books are corrected?

Completely empty author profiles (No books, no quotes, no fans) will be deleted automatically at some point, but it can take a while before that happens.
