Anne | 9 comments A man (writer or journalist) moves to the south (US) and discovers and researches a century old crime that is similar to a modern situation.

How long ago is "a long time ago"? 2 years? 5? 25? 60? Was this fiction or non-fiction? I'm assuming either mystery, suspense or horror?

Scott Sounds similar to Bag of Bones.

Anne | 9 comments I read it within the last 15 years. I remember it being a fictional historical mystery. (Did I make up that category?!)

Anne | 9 comments Not Bag of Bones, but interesting as I have yet to read that one.

Is it standalone, or part of a series?

message 7: by Anne (new)

Anne | 9 comments I'm pretty sure it's a stand alone.

Anne, what can you remember about the crime and the people involved - in the present time or a century ago?

message 9: by Anne (new)

Anne | 9 comments Kris, I'm sorry. I can't remember really. Just bits and pieces.
The main character is living in an old house and the crime from a century ago happened in the woods on a hill. I want to say it has something to do with slavery.
I'm really sorry I don't have more details. That's why I'm trying to find the book so I can remember, but I may not ever find it. :-/

Anne--don't give up hope. We've solved books with fewer clues than you gave us. Just bump this up periodically (every 30 to 90 days is the usual time period.)

Anne | 9 comments Thanks! I will. :)
