Perhaps it was about her short relationship with Sebastian. He was a demon, after all, and Clary did start to love him...until he got forceful.

Maybe she was refering to his confusion over his father? Then at the end, his sarcasm was to indicate that Valentine did not control him as everyone thought.He had the potential to love the wrong father, but it did not come to pass.
