I read this book in last couple of years, a teacher gets her young students to write letters to a man in the military that is currently in battle. They start communicating back and forth, soon the teacher and the man fall in love through sending each other letters. He eventually comes to the classroom to meet the teacher and her students.

It is called "Serving My Soldier" by Chelsea Cameron. However I read it in the Honor Anthology , not sure if you can get the story on it's own.
