I'm afraid this is a bit over my head; there are no fewer than 7 instances of the author

G. K. Chesterton, Manalive (just a quote)
G.K. Chesterton

G.K. Chesterton Jonathan Le-them (Introduction) (a conglomeration of Chesterton and Lethem when one or both did an introduction for a book apparently).

I don't mind fixing them and know they should all go under G.K. Chesterton, but wasn't certain of the steps to accomplish this. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's not as easy as changing the "individual" author names all to G.K. Chesterton?

the empty ones will be deleted by script (the manalive where I moved the quote so that it's now empty) and the Le-Them one which always was empty as I looked

And it is as easy as just "edit" the author and entering the name correct - it'll ask you if you really want to merge into the one you entered if there already someone with that name exist.

no problem - you can try merging with one of the remaining empty ones (the script doesn't work properly at the moment as far as I know so they will be cleaned up then ;) )
