This series was published in the 1980s a year or two after Sweet Valley High came out. I think the title of the series and the name of the town had Falls in it. It's told a lot from the pov of the new family who sits somewhere between the different socio-economic groups. The rich family who owns the mill that a lot of people work for has a daughter who's popular in school and has an interest in the boy of the family that just moved there. The girl of the family has a has some friends from both sides of town.

I thinks the series only had 6-8 books in it, but there could have been more. This was not like Sweet Valley High where new characters were the focus of the each new book usually. The drama was centered on maybe 8 characters.

Thanks for the suggestion but that's not it. I could be wrong about falls being the name of the town but that is what sticks with me and it was definitely published earlier than Trust Falls.
