Fallen (fallencatalyst) Cody thanked him softly as he opened the door for him, heading inside. He kept fidgeting for a moment before making himself stop, mumbling something under his breath. He tucked his hands in his pockets and started down the hall toward their class.
"Oh. Alright. Good luck with your interview." Cody said softly, doing his best to hide the disappointment in his voice. "If you want me to not try anything such as talking to you or whatever because of all the stuff I've done or anything, just say so please. So I don't waste your time and mine on something where I never even had a chance.." He said, glancing at him. "I know I fucked up everything between us so I get it if you want me to stay out of your life." He told him, without even thinking what he was saying.

Morgan | 802 comments Ryan figured that was that and they would travel to class and depart ways. Unfortunately that wasn't the case as Cody seemed to just throw his thoughts out there. "No, no, that's not it." He said quickly before shaking his head. He didn't want to lie to both himself and the other man so instead he went for a partial truth. "I just have a lot I need to focus on this year. Work, my studies. There aren't too many twenty year old freshmen." He ended with an awkward laugh. There were probably more twenty year old freshman than him, but he was sure they hadn't all completed high school two years ago and been held back from a full ride due to what was dubbed as family drama. Or more like the episode of a family falling apart for two full years. At the mention of Cody fucking up he shrugged his shoulders. Over the years he'd learned that the past was the past, and not to live in it. Despite himself he found himself momentarily pausing as he ripped off a piece of paper from the edge of his schedule before fumbling in his pocket for something to write with. When he found his pockets to be completely empty he looked up at Cody. "Do you have a pen?"

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Cody sighed softly. "I'm older than you and in the same boat as a freshman at 21." He commented quietly. He then fell silent for the rest of the walk toward their classroom, letting his thoughts take over for a moment.
He hadn't meant to let him and Ryan drift apart. It wasn't in his plan to start out as a musician at only 14 and end up dealing with everything that came with it and pushed him and Ryan apart. But oh well. Now he had a slight chance and was going to do anything possible to fix it.
"Oh. Yeah. Here." Cody mumbled, Ryan's voice snapping him back to reality. He grabbed a pen from his pocket and handed it to him, stopping as they reached the door to their class. They were still a few minutes early.

Morgan | 802 comments Ryan was quick to reply. "Hey man, at least you have a good excuse. On tour for practically an entire year. Sold out shows." If anything it was a surprise that Cody Holocourt would want to be friends again. Was he really that lonely? Ryan didn't even know what a real friend was like in the last seven years- so he could only imagine the money grubbing elites who wanted to get close to someone only because of their fame. But there had to be some people out there who still resembled humans.
He carefully took the pen with a nod of thanks before holding the scrap piece of paper against the wall. In his traditional messy scrawl he wrote down his number, scribbling out the three at the end that looked more like an eight before he handed the paper to him. "That's my number, just text me and I'll tell you my schedule." Ryan said with a noncommittal shrug. Whether or not they'd actually ever meet up and have a real conversation was up in the air- but it did ease some of his guilt about being so withdrawn in the moment. Tapping the pen against the wall he took the first step into the class, forgetting to return the object entirely as he found a comfortable seat in the middle of the class. It was perfect. Not too far back to show just how uninterested he was in the subject, and not too close to the point where he would become buddy buddy with the teacher.

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Cody rolled his eyes. "Shush about that here please. I really am going to try not to be recognized here as much as I can. I want to be able to go to actual classes, not do online ones and hide out from people.." He mumbled quietly, watching him. The past year had been pretty stressful for him, being constantly on the road, spending most of his time in hotels, airports or tour buses but he didn't complain. After all, Cody was getting to do what he loved, sing and play music for tons of people.
He smiled faintly as he watched Ryan writing down his number, thinking maybe he could make this work out and get his friend back. "Alright. Thank you." Cody said quietly, taking the small bit of paper and tucking it into his wallet since he wouldn't lose or forget it there.
He waited out in the hall for a moment before following Ryan into the classroom, looking around. He took a seat closer to the back. He was quite interested and excited for the class but didn't want to be noticed too much if he could avoid it.
