Welcome to the Gryffindor Common Room. Only Gryffindors are allowed in here. The entrance is hidden behind the portrait of the fat lady. A password is required to enter. The password is wattlebird.

Aleda walked down the halls, behind all the younger kids, helping her friend Will do his job. Will was a prefect in the same year as herself, and since the girl prefect made it very clear she would not be going anywhere near Will, he had asked Aleda to simply trail behind the Gryffindor mob and ensure that no one was left behind. For the most part, she just walked slowly behind, glancing out the windows where she could see her beloved quidditch pitch. She was tingling with excitement, but first, she had to make sure that she got the little Gryffindors to common room first. Then, she would play quidditch.

Ally walked behind two older students, in a crowd of first years

Will stopped at the portrait of the fat lady and checked to make sure no students from other houses were nearby before he spoke. Coast was clear, so he went on.
"Listen up first years! This here is our friend the fat lady in pink. She will be the one to let us into our common room. To get in, you will need this year's password. It's wattlebird." As soon as the fat lady heard Wattlebird, she swung open revealing the common room just beyond the hole behind her frame. Will led the way in, but blocked the path so that no one could sit down or start exploring the dorms yet.

Ally tripped threw the door and stood, as the older prefect, will, waited for everyone to crowd in.

Will waited until all the first years were crowded into the entrance of the common room and were waiting and quiet. "Alright, welcome to the Gryffindor Common Room. You will spend most of your time here. Oh, and the staircase on the left leads to the boys dorms, and the staircase on the right leads to the ladies's dorms. And now, for an important quidditch announcement from our Gryffindor captain, the lovely Aleda Malone!" He pointed to the back of the crowd towards Aleda, who despite not being very tall, still towered over the first years.

Ally turned to face the girl

Aleda blushed slightly at the sudden amount of attention, and the fact that she was caught off guard. "Quidditch tryouts are in half an hour. Be on the pitch." She said quickly. She smiled a smile that could be perceived as sweetness, but rather it was one filled of excitement and annoyance. Excitement due to the fact she would be on the pitch in no time, and annoyance at Will for making her agree to help him out.

Will walked back into the Common Room, after leaving Aleda and Jason alone on the Quidditch Pitch. He honestly did hope that things worked out between them, and by worked out, he meant Jason made a move. He was supposed to be rounding up first years for try outs, but he figured that Aleda would have other things on her mind, and she would just reschedule it. He found a relatively comfy looking couch, and plopped down.

Ella-Marie entered the Common Room with a small smile on her face. She just finished writing a song and now was listening to it on her Ipod. She had one of her earphones in and other was dangling down. She was a 5th year here and she never really talked to anyone. She did want to but she would get nervous then chicken out. She promised this year she would try but she focused more on her music than anyone else. She would study with music, clean with music, and anything around it. She fixed her hair and sat down on couch not noticing the boy next to her.

Will had been lightly sleeping when he felt the couch sink down next to him. He opened his eyes to see one of the 5th years listening to her music. She had a calculating look on her face, almost like she was analyzing the music she was listening to.

"Hey." Will said.

Ella-Marie looked up from her Ipod with shocked look on her face. She saw 6th year boy that she has seen before but never have spoken to each other. She took out her earphone giving him her full attention since it was polite thing to do.

"Hello" She said with a smile showing her dimples, "I have seen you around before"

"Lots of people have." He joked/laughed. "I'm head boy, so more than usual I guess. And I play Quidditch." Will said, trying to find reason for the girl having seen him before. "I think I've seen you maybe once or twice. What's you name?" He questioned.

She smiled again, "My name is Ella-Marie Petrova." She looked back downed realizing she had said more words towards him than she has in the last 3 years. She mentally cheered on the inside and couldn't help to smile, "I usually don't speak much and just keep to myself"

"Oh. Will Fletcher." He said. He noticed her look down, and felt bad, but didn't make a move to move her head up to face him. He hoped talking would make her look up again. "I talk a lot. But if you reallyyyy want someone who can talk forever, you would have to go to my best friend Aleda."

"Well Nice to finally meet you,Will" She looked up again. She must have been rude looking down. She scolded herself for seeming to be rude, "I would to her one time. I need to start getting out of my shell anyway."

"Well, I think you're doing a pretty good job." Will noted. "Being social isn't always about talking a lot, it's just being yourself. Sometimes, like Aleda, those go hand in hand, but I don't think that's your case." He smiled.

She looked at him with a grateful smile. She didn't really think about it that way until he told her and it opened her eyes abit. She was still going to try and speak more but not completely change herself, "Thank you telling me that I never really thought about it that way"

"Not a problem Ella-Marie." He thought for a moment. "Is it alright if I just call you Ella? Or Em, for your first name initials?"

"I have never really had a nickname but you can call me whatever you fell comfortable" She said with a shrug.

"Em it is!" Will stated. "So Em, tell me a bit about yourself." He said, trying to get her comfortable with being sociable and herself. He figured that this was a good place to start.

She thought about it for a moment then decided what she was going to say, "I am originally from Bulgaria and I am 15 years young. I love to sing and I write my own songs in my spare time. I am adopted because my whole family died. I think that is all I can tell you right now."

"That's a lot of stuff to tell me for a girl who hates talking." Will smiled. "I'm really sorry about your family." He added, but he didn't really want to dwell on that fact, since it would be a lot easier for Em to open up if the conversation was more light, not serious. "Well. I'm 17, originally from England, like most every one else here. My best friend is Aleda, no we're not dating, and I live for Quidditch. I'm a beater for Gryffindor." He rattled off.

She at his previous statement but she was to open up, "Don't feel bad about my family but I always did want to try Quidditch." She remembered a small memory of her older brother before she started to get back to reality. She smiled at Will, "Thanks for talking to me,Will"

"Hey, it's not a problem!" He said cheerily. "Sometime, if you want, I'll take you out onto the Pitch and you can try Quidditch if you want. Maybe you'll be a natural! After all, there are still a few spots open."

"I don't know about joining or anything but its sounds like fun to atleast try it" She said with glee.

"Well come on! I'll show you!" Will's face lit up. "That is if you're game for it?" He said challenging her.

"Oh trust I usually win and I will show you,Will" She said with a smile.

Aleda ran upstairs to her dorm, already visualizing her closet. She had decided to wear something nice, but still rather casual. After much debating, she choose some skinny jeans, a black lace three quarter sleeve shirt, and some nice boots with a chunky necklace to top it off. And of course, her rings that she never removed. She quickly doused herself in her favorite perfume, and headed downstairs, ready for her sort of unofficial date with Jason to Three Broomsticks. She just stood waiting in the middle of the room, hoping he would see her among the busyness of the room.

Jason put on his only pair of jeans with no holes in them, and a t-shirt that was still more or less its original deep blue. Then he changed his mind and fished out from the bottom of his closet a white button-down shirt that his mother had given him for Christmas and that he'd never worn before. He combed his hair, which was still damp from the shower, and he ran back downstairs.
Aleda was already there, so he walked swiftly towards her. "You look beautiful", he said, once she was within earshot.

"What? Oh um. Thanks." Aleda blushed. She wasn't used to guys calling her beautiful. Sure, Drew had said that before, but that was just in a your-my-best-friend sort of way. This was way different. "You look great too." She said. "Well.. Shall we go?" She asked sort of hesitantly.

[Sofia]

"Sure", Jason said, reaching out and taking her hand. "No time like the present."

"Way too true." Aleda agreed. She crawled through the hole in the wall, and waited outside for Jason to crawl through as well. She smiled at the fat lady in pink, and then turned, focusing on where she was walking.
