I'm the same. No particular day. When I get an email or if I happen to see a book that catches my attention, I don't care if it's Saturday or Wednesday, I'll buy it. So whenever I find time to sit and read, they're already on my Kindle waiting. I'm disorganized that way:)
I can't say there's a particular day of the week, but maybe a type of day. Rainy or snowy or unbearably hot usually means I'm inside and in the mood to browse and see if something catches my attention.
I don't have a particular practice regarding buying books. It comes down to what I happen to learn about, for example, an advertisement for a book. Regards,

I used to go to my local library on a particular day but they moved it out of town, so now I buy eBooks as and when I fancy.Looks like randomly is the norm these days.
Perhaps the reduced expense (relative to average incomes) of books today has something to do with book-buying moving to an impulse activity? Also, in the past we had to deliberately seek out information about books; now it is more or less shoved into our minds?
I subscribe to several daily book marketing by email vendors. That is seven days a week, although I seldom check on Sundays, so those books are often off special by the time I get to them and I don't buy. Often my undoing, however, is Twitter and my favorite Facebook groups. If I see a book I like, I will either buy it or put it in my wish list and get it later on Kindle Unlimited.
With respect to impulse purchasing, what really did it for me was the rise of the e-book. I used to go to the bookstore or to the library. But some bookstores have been closing, making e-books more appealing. In addition, libraries have been buying e-books.
What I found is that with e-books, it became easier to find books and carry them around, especially if I was traveling.
E-books, of course, led to compulsive buying. But I have been trying to limit myself.
One, I look for books that are available at a bargain. Two, I look to see whether my local library has the books I want.

Is there a day in the week when you nearly always buy your books?
For instance, is it a Monday because the working week stretches ahead and you feel the need for a pick-me-up?
Or a Sunday, when there's time to sit and read?
I used to think I always bought on a Saturday but I've realized I buy on all days.
