... I can't remember June. There have been lots of good books I've read recently. It might have been The Fourteenth Goldfish but Shirley Link & the Black Cat came a very close second, along with two books for grown-ups I read. 3 5stars and one 4.5 isn't bad in one month!

I enjoyed Aubrey and the Terrible Yoot. It's about the protagonist living with someone who suffers from depression. The story was told at the right level for MG readers.

My favourite book for June was The Secret Hum of a Daisy by Tracy Holczer. Beautifully written story about a young girl coming to terms with the death of her mother and finding her place in the world that remains. Character driven realistic fiction with just a hint of magic.
