Lois I really enjoyed the book. I was very engrossed, and liked Emma Cline's deep writing. Living in the Bay Area (SF, and spending frequent time in Sonoma Cty), I loved the imagery. I related a lot to the issues of female insecurities, power, friendship, needs, etc.
While there was something rather satisfying about Suzanne and the gang going see Evie at her school, somehow that just felt a bit too tidy of an ending. Would they really travel there and possibly get caught? Were they trying to see if Evie would blow their cover? Join them? I felt like Evie was bigger to them in her mind, then she was to them. This seemed to connect better to Evie's version of the story (and possibly to a more fulfilling ending), than what I think would have actually happened.

Randi I thought it was because Suzanne really did feel something for Evie, and wanted to say goodbye. There were many things that were implausible. The parents were awfully clueless.

Patricia I agree that Evie didn't seem like an important part of the group, and if they wanted to make sure she'd keep quite, they should have sought her out sooner. It would have made more sense for Suzanne to visit alone, or with 1 or 2 of the others, but not the whole bus.
