Monty(view spoiler)[ I like him - even though he makes mistakes. he's clearly been raised to be the heir and with money and privilege. He's had a lot of people telling him he's a screw up, I don't blame him for rising to their assumptions.
he's mean sometimes, though, and lashes out like he's a 3 year old. I'm hoping this time on the road and this thing he's stolen will help him mature and grow up (hide spoiler)]

Felicity(view spoiler)[ I certainly like her. You can tell she's frustrated by her lot in life - a girl in the time when all she could do was be cute and sweet and great at conversation and planning parties. clearly she loves to read and wants to educate herself. she's fierce. (hide spoiler)]

Percy(view spoiler)[ I'm sad about their misunderstanding. obviously, percy jus wanted to make sure that Monty loved him and wasn't just using him.
I hope this helps them both figure out what's going on and work together - although I'm not sure how they could ever be together in this time - in love or not.

I'm also sad for all that Percy has to put up with. Monty and his drinking and privilege. and that conversation with that woman who wanted him to come talk. that must be hard for him to go through all the time (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Monty: Ya i agree. It makes sense why he is the way he is, but he difinitely is geting better as the trip goes on. Seems to be noticing his mistakes more, and the things hes saying, and trying to ma,e things right, and be useful in anyway he can.

Felicity: Shes great, she knows what she wants and tries to do anything she can inorder to read, and get educated. She definitly is feustrated that she was born a girl and that prevents her from doing whatbshe wants most, but still does nlr stop her from reading amd educating herself.

Percy: I agree with you, I do hope this helps them out allmg the way to figuring things out, and work them out. True, at this time where it is considered illegal....
He diffenitely had it hard, having to deal with Monty, and then with also knowing that he has to go to an asylum, and what his family thinks of him. It is sad, but definitly understandable why he hadn't. (hide spoiler)]

Monty: honestly if people had had faith in him he wouldnt have been at the state whrre he had been. His father... Ugh! Atleast now people are startimgto show faith in him, also at the end with scipio, that was great. He deserves to be told how much he truly is worth.
Percy: still absolutely great, him and his fidle case :). They finally talked it out!!!
I hope the agreement with the pirates all wlrks out and they make it to Venice and back, and Percy is able to get them the papers. Though Im sure they are peobably going to run i to more troubles, as they always seem to lol (hide spoiler)]

Poor poor Monty whenever kt seems like thjngs are finally getting better things seem to fall apart again. and now he lost his ear, but he is takimg it pretty well. How far are you, I'm only up to chapter 6(view spoiler)[ I kinda get what your saying but where I am at it seems more that Percy is afraid the he means nothing to Monty that Monty will just fool around with anyone, but I get why he might feel that way Monty is an idiot, and doesn't say what he mean but goes for the cruelest response, that and he makes awful choices (hide spoiler)]

I started it last night. I read the first 3 chapters. I find the protagonist, Monty, a bit arrogant. I suppose with a father like that. But I still don't know if I like his first POV.

I might have missed it, but does it say the period it is set and how old Monty is? Thanks : )

I just read the first 2 chapters, and I think Monty will make me laugh a lot lol I can't wait to read about their aventures and to see how his relationship with Percy will grow up :)

I think during 18th century like written on the first chapter. And I think he is like 18-20 years old :)
