How do I change the title of the thread to add "SOLVED"?
Kara do you want to have this moved to Solved now--or wait until you see if you can find a copy and insure that it IS your book?

From the review: "Zan ... is able to step back across--after an eleven month absence by her time which is only hours later back home." "... though Zan gets in the end the first period she'd longed for in the beginning, the wish fulfillment is tempered by the contrast between her mother's passing congratulations and the People's glorious celebration of such an event ... "
It sounds like you can mark it solved.
It's ok to wait. Sometimes when we actually get a book in hand that we were so hopeful for, it just falls flat, and we are left heartbroken yet again. So close, and yet NOT the lost love we were searching for. :oP
So we'll wait for you to come back and tell us that you know that that's "the one".

I read this as a pre-teen in the early to mid-70s. For years I have tried to figure out which book this was. Thanks.
