Kvothe is about to be killed by the Chandrian when Haliax stops and looks to the sky, Skarpis story (the second one) says that the Amyr are formed and they disappear from sight and only the most powerful can see them and even then only at great difficulty, and lastly Kvothe is dying in the snow in Tarbean only to be saved by Encanis, but before that he sees a bird? Maybe an Amyr? Now assuming it was an Amyr Chronicler states this is the man i came to see the man who fought a demon for his greatest desire(not a direct quote im sorry just from memory) and then had to kill an angel just to keep it. Denna has a mysterious patron who possibly forces her to write a song that paints Lanrey in a posetive light, and who else would do that than one of the Chandrian, while Denna was was in Vint so was Cinder (there's no such thing as coincidence in these books) Other than Haliax it doesnt necessarily say that a Chandrian cant get replaced so to assume its the true name that matters then maybe if a Changrian (other than Haliax who would just come back) were to die they can come back of someone new changes their name to it. Kvothe wants Denna even if he's too dense to know it and if she is in line to take a Chandrians place (and even if not) and Cinder has been grooming her for whatever evil purpose Kvothe would kill him on the spot to save her. Now if an Amyr were to appear also trying to kill the Chandrian all they would find is a boy who killed it and a girl who followed it would the Amyr (for the greater good) kill this possibly innocent girl? well i think so anyway but Kvothe wouldnt let that happen either would he? and this would be defeat a demon and kill an angel to the eyes of someone who didnt truly understand what was happening.

thankyou for reading and please tell me your theories i only have two friends who have read these magnificent books and they cant handle my obsessive-ness of figuring out these secrets and foreshadows

Zach | 29 comments Well that is assuming Kvothes greatest desire is Denna. What if his greatest desire is revenge? If it only says he fought a demon that doesn't mean he defeated it.

Zach | 29 comments I do like that thought though. If he fights a Demon and gets his greatest desire, revenge or power, then that could entail that he defeated the Demon. Due to the power bring used it brings an Amyr, thus Kvothe has to kill or be killed. What if Haliax is the only one that lives forever and the others grow old and have to die. I believe Halifax was the only one cursed like that.

So to keep the seven going they have to replace themselves. What if Cinder is doing that with Kvothe. Driving him to become like Cinder himself. Kind of like how the emperor in Star Wars tried to make Luke hate and kill him. Thus making him like himself.

Thus the fear and running and name changing.

Amyr don't disappear from sight, they are visible. The ones who are "invisible", for lack of a better word, were actually created by Aleph, they had to agree to allow all infractions against them be voided up until the point in history they were created to act as a sort of karmic force in the world.

Selitos wouldn't agree to that because of Myr Tarinial, so he made the Amyr, specifically to punish the Chandrian.

Tehlu, I believe, is the most often mentioned in regards to angels.

Also, Cinder was in the Eld, so it's hard to say if he was really in Vintas so much, it's a magical forest. It borders Modeg, Vintas, The Small Kingdoms, and Atur. As well as having pathways into fae, it's pretty suggestive that Cinder is in fact a creature of fae, by description. Likely he is as long lived as Felurian.

Also, Selitos didn't curse just Haliax, he cursed Haliax and all who followed him. It's most likely none of the Chandrian suffered from there "signs" until this point in history and likely none of them die from natural causes. However, Haliax's ability to return from death is specific to him and not part of Selitos curse. Only the Shadow is really Selitos doing.
