I haven't read this one. I've read some of her other books and liked them. Sorry this one isn't working for you. Maybe skim the rest?

I had a thought today and I wanted to share.
Since Summer is upon us and many people vacation and/or travel during the summer, I was wanting to do a tracker of sorts (not necessarily a challenge but a tracker) to see how many different states in the US that I "visit" via the books that I read. During the months of May through September, I'm going to list the 50 states and then mark them off as a I read a book that is set in that state to see how many I read about during these summer months.
Does anyone else want to do this? If so I can open up a thread in the challenges, but if not I will just do it myself.

Yes!!! I would absolutely love to do this. Please set up a thread. It sounds like so much fun. I'm leaving on my first real summer vacation tomorrow morning. I'm heading to Charleston South Carolina. Right now I'm trying to figure out what books to download for my trip. hahaha

OMG I've been super busy at work and then just took a couple needed vacations and I when I signed on I saw I'm already 5 books behind my year reading challenge. :0 And I lowered my amount this year. It makes me sad to think I've been too busy to read!

Oh no! Hopefully things will slow down for you this summer and you can find more time to read. I have been super busy with end of school year stuff, but this is our last week of school! So excited for summer break!

Woo hoo! I bet you can't wait to be done. Hang in there on your last week. Do you have any big vacations planned this summer? I know last year you came out to San Francisco area.

No big plans! Just making a trek to the beach (Florida) this year. We are driving..11 hours with 2 kids, and a puppy (I know we are crazy!)

I haven't read it yet! I started reading another book instead. Let me know when you want to read it. I'm not in a super hurry or anything.
Beth Flynn is supposed to release
today or tomorrow. Anyone want to buddy read it? It's supposed to be a Nine Minutes spin-off.

I'm doing that 50 state challenge and I feel like every book I'm picking up lately is set in NY! Grr

I just want to vent that I have so many books right now that I want to read and never enough time. So many new books from authors I love have come out and I don't want them to get lost in my ever growing To-Read shelf. It's frustrating!!

Guys, I'm so sorry that I have been MIA lately. My family and I have been going through a bit of a rough patch (my father-in-law passed away suddenly - he was only 62) and we have been dealing with a ton personal/emotional/financial/physical issues due to his passing. I have been reading (I need that escape now more than ever) in the few moments that I have had free - but haven't had time to comment or post anything. Please keep us in your thoughts and/or prayers. Thanks for understanding!
I'm so, so sorry to hear that. I'll be thinking of you and your family. Prayers headed your way! And no worries. We will be here when you're ready.

Oh no Karen, I am so sorry!! Definitely sending prayers and hugs your way. May you all find healing and get through this very difficult time. ♥

I need a new laptop! Fun fact: My current laptop won't let me type anything with K L or : - so I'm constantly rewording things to avoid using those letters (I can copy and paste to get it, but sometimes it's not worth the hassle).
So if you see things phrased funny in my post, it is more than likely because I was on my laptop and avoiding using K and L :)
Guess what I'm getting for Christmas? Hoping to find a good deal on a Chromebook in the Black Friday Sales!

Thanks, Karen! We had wonderful holidays too. Our daughter did her reveal on Christmas to and she is having a girl!!
Happy New Year, Everyone!!

Happy New Year, Everyone!!
Happy Valentine's Day! I hope everyone enjoys their day with loved ones or curled up by yourself with a good book (Both of those options are very appealing!)
Confession: I'm such a mood reader and it affects my ability to participate in buddy reads/monthly reads and often it is a challenge to read books that get when I have been on the wait list for the library before they are due back (many times I just have to put myself back on the waitlist and cross my fingers that next time I'll be in the mood to read it).
I think it may be mind block though. The thought of "having" to read a particular book gets to me (I think).

I know what you're saying. I've really been mood reading lately. I sometimes have force myself to pick up some books I want to read but am not in the mood for.
I'm completely a mood reader too! And I get how it can affect challenges. Sometimes I'm reading a book for a challenge that I'm not in the mood for and it just takes me forever to read it. The book can be a good book, but if you're not in the mood sometimes it even affects how you liked the story.

Sorry I missed this! Hope you had a good Easter and are staying well!! We actually didn't really plan an Easter no little kids anymore, but ended up having appetizers and a nice dinner with two of our kids and it was a wonderful day. ♥

I've really been MIA from our group. I've been barely reading, which is strange during this time of quarantine you think I would be reading a lot. It's been weird, but reading has really affected my moods. If there is a little bit of angst I get in the worst mood and don't want to read. Reading has always been my happy place!!
With that said I have been slowly reading the Sarina Bowen's True North series I'm on book 4
and I've fallen in love with Vermont in this series. I don't know if it's the lack of getting out from the quarantine, but I want to go to Vermont and experience the apples, cheeses, the beer/ciders, organic veggies. It all sounds so wonderful there. When this is all over I want to take a vacation to Vermont!! haha

I totally get that. I'm trying to read upbeat books. I don't want to feel sad either. It's hard enough during this time without that.

I agree! I'm having trouble focusing on things. My mind wanders to all of the things that this shelter-in-place order is effecting. It just messes with my focus.
Why does it seem that all historical romance audiobook narrators have a British accent? I can't listen to that, I've tried...
Hey all! Just an update: I have been MIA lately because I had a car accident last week and it was pretty rough! Head on collision. Everyone was okay, but I have been dealing with tension headaches/nerve pain from the whiplash and haven't been able to focus on screens for long period of time. I was able to see my chiropractor this week and he was able to give me some relief. I am feeling much better now, but just wanted to let you all know.
I"m pretty sure I just fried my laptop by accidentally spilling an entire bottle of water on it. So, if I'm not as active as usual in the next week or so, that's why. Promise I'm still around.
