Susan We just moved. My husband had a heart attack in August, got fired, and we couldn't pay the rent. We got evicted and wound up in Extended Stay for 28 days. Sold everything we owned so we wouldn't be on the street or living in our car. Life is getting better now, slowly but better and yes moving sucks!!

Argggghhh!!! I just went to purchase Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch and Kindle is $10.99 and the paperback is $7.41. That just irks me!!! And I buy a lot of Kindle books and sometimes I add the narration because I love to listen to the book while I go for a walk or clean the house. Let's face it I probably wouldn't put the book down and go for a walk if I didn't have the narration on some books. LOL Even the cost to add the narration is only discounted by .91 cents. Really, I definitely won't add narration. A lot of books you can add narration for only $2.99, so for me I think it's worth it. Just venting, I still bought the Kindle version, because I prefer it.

I love the overdrive app, but it bugs me that I can't have my ebooks downloaded onto multiple devices using this app. Does anyone else have this problem? For example, if I download an EBOOK from my library via the app on my kindle, I can't also download it onto my phone. It says that the book has all ready been downloaded onto another device. Does anyone know a way around this? It may just be the Ohio Digital Library too...I usually read 2 books when I read on overdrive because of this (no big deal, I can handle that)

message 3124: by Grace (new)

Grace (sillymssunshine) | 333 comments Karen: I get most of my books from overdrive and download it to my Kindle too. I can usually get books on my iPhone from the Kindle app in addition to having them on my Kindle. I just have to sync it on the Kindle app and download it to device. For me, I bypass the overdrive app that way, because once you download it on Kindle, overdrive already did its job. Hope that works for you.

message 3125: by Vega_girl (new)

Vega_girl | 6624 comments You can also chose to download the Epub version instead of the kindle book. When you click the download button on the book it gives you the choice "epub" or "kindle" epub can be downloaded on all the devices that have your account. I am not sure if you can download to an actual kindle. I have a Galaxy 3 tablet with both overdrive and kindle apps anf it works great for me....

Vega_girl | 6624 comments I need to rant feel free to pass this by.....

So I loved Amy A. Bartol!!! Brennus is my favorite bad boy of all time!!! Well when Amy was all set to write the last book in the premonition series Iniquity, she just stopped!!!! Like she literally wrote a whole other series 3 freaking books a TRILOGY!!! While the rest of us hung on by a thread waiting to see the fates of Eve Brennus and about 20 other deeply loved charachters!!! 3 years!!! we waited 3 years for her to come back to the story.....while she won award after award for the Kricket Series........I decided then about 1 and a halve years ago I would Never read that series....just to spite her!............. but I really needed a book that started with a "U"....... and the dumb thing was on Kindle Unlimited......what was I suppose to do!!!! I had to suck it up and read just the first one!!!! cheese and crackers....... I forgot what a great freaking writer she is and while I am still upset with her for leaving Brennus in the wind ....I have to hand it to her....in 48 hours I devoured the whole freaking Kricket trilogy.....and I loved every minute of it!!!

OH my Barb, I totally feel your pain. I hate when an author leaves you hanging, but I'm glad you enjoyed her other series.

I'm so upset right now from Author Anonymous by E.K. Blair . This book is consuming my thoughts and I hate that it is and feel like it doesn't deserve to. I really didn't like the book at all, but the writing was good. Reminds me of how I felt after reading So Much More. It took me a few days to rate it and I feel like that with this book. Plus, it's making it hard for me to select my next book. I'm in book coma....hahahaha

Non book related but my daughter (8) just asked me if Santa was real because some kids at school said he wasn't. I wasn't ready for the question! I should have been since she's 8, but I wasn't. So when she asked in tears, all I could say was to ask her what she wanted to believe. She said she that Santa was real, so I told her she could believe what she wanted. Now I'm questioning my own judgement. I probably should have just told her. My husband is going to think I'm dumb!

I don't think what you said was dumb at all!! My husband went to great lengths to keep our kids believing until they were older 10-12. They knew from all their friends talk that there probably wasn't a Santa, but we did little things that kept them thinking maybe and they were afraid maybe if they didn't then there wouldn't be presents. It makes Christmas a little more magical for kids. I think you said the perfect thing your daughter still wants to believe and she should!

Vega_girl | 6624 comments Thanks for sharing!! Did you guys see that she is writing Too Late under C. HOOVER instead of her full name so everyone can know that this book is not her "typical" novel.....this is only for 1. Super mature audiences and 2. Maas and I love that there are at least 5 different love stories in the making here....one is familial and the other 4 are boy meets girl...with the wickedest twists ever!!! What I really love though is that one does not out shine the others. They each have their very on spotlight...
