I have been wanting to read The 5th Wave forever!!! But I too am a sucker and went with the family to see the movie first.....I liked the story...will definitely read the book, but it may be because I read a lot of dystopian novels and I just could not get over how she always had make up on!!!! And her hair never got greasy!!! My husband said I was crazy, but I have long hair....if Im fightig for my life I will most certainly have a pony tail!!! So those little things really erked me......

I've been trying to read books that i have previously purchased ( I own a ton of books on my kindle that i haven't read, I'm such a book hoarder) and/or get them from the library, but one can only resist so much. So I gave in and bought 2 ebooks today. But in my defense these are books that I have been dying to read.

To the Stars (Thatch #2) by Molly McAdams - this is the second novel in Molly McAdams's Thatch series (I love her books).

and Last Call (Bad Habits, #3) by Staci Hart - which is the 3rd book in Staci Hart's bad habits series. I've been dying to read about Tricky and Rose (this one was only 99 cents and a preorder, it won't be here until Monday). *note: all 3 books in this series are 99 cents right now, if you are interested, I love them! They have a sort of "Friends" (you know the TV show) vibe with romance.*

Has anyone else recently purchased any new releases that they have been dying to get their hands on?

Yes it's a about a group of 20-something friends that live in NYC and (some of the friends are roomates and live across the hall from each other) and they typically meet up at a bar where one of the friends is a bar tender...they have some crazy moments. I like it.

I think i'm the only person who didn't really like Beautiful Disaster. I may have to try a re-read to see if it was just my mood at the time.

Wow, All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven . An excellent book that really affected me...I don't know how I feel about it being a movie. This would be a hard one for me to watch.

I just read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children that would be a good one for kids.

I'm in one of those reading slumps where I'm reading, but I'm not enjoying it. It doesn't matter what I read, I'm just not into it. This frustrates me to no end. I'm trying to read Fighting Shadows (On the Ropes, #2) by Aly Martinez and After We Fell (After, #3) by Anna Todd but nothing. And it's not the story line - it's me. I hate when this happens...

Sometimes when I'm in that mood, I take a day off and watch TV instead. Hope it gets better!

message 2490: by Erika (new)

Erika | 9482 comments I am reading The Perfect Life by Erin Noelle , and it was just a plot twist. In my head I already had the party at fault and who's side I was on, and this was just in the first few chapters. I don't know if the rest of the book will be like this but again, I just thought I knew.
