Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Yes, it is. It has this bright idea whereby the price of the book is determined (to a certain extent) by its degree of popularity. Therefore, if you sell a copy once in a blue moon, it will be free, but if you're trampled in the rush to get them, the price rises accordingly. Just wondered if anyone had tried it?

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Odd concept.

Interesting though! It's the same basis as marginal pricing for seats on budget airlines. The idea is to allow those with no pre-existing fan base to build one by giving their book away initially, apparently.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Is it really the case that no-one here's had any experience of this at all?

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Moved to agony aunt and I'll link it in the morning thread.

I'd never even heard of it till this thread. The title lead me to think it was about one of those picture making apps

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I'm really surprised. I came across it by accident but it seems to me, on the basis of the little that I know about it, that it could be a game-changing business model. Mind you, I'm wrong about most things ;-)
