Leigh Ann (as_read_by_la) | 1 comments Hello lovely book people!
My name is Leigh Ann. I'm 27 years of age, have a BA in Art (graphic design) and journalism. I work for a Newspaper and make stories look pretty on paper.
Reading has been such a huge part of my life. My best friend really lit the reading fire in me when we were in middle school and I've been obsessed ever since.
There isn't really a specific genre that I prefer over others, I love reading new things and exploring new books worlds.
I'm excited to be here! :)

Alex (alex-mewmew) | 3 comments Hello (´。• ᵕ •。`)
My name is Alex, I'm 17 and I'm from Malta. I'm studying English & French. I'm just about to start reading Shelley's "Frankenstein", and the last book I finished was Madeline Miller's "The Song of Achilles" (I absolutely adored it! (´• ω •`) ♡ )

message 122: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi everyone! My name is Sean, although, as an Amazon refugee, I was known as '4thEarl'.
I really could not name my favorite book, film or musical artist/band because it all depends what mood I am in? Perhaps the mood I find myself in is dictated by the book/film/music I am currently enjoying? I'm a keen photographer, but I'm somewhat lazy about it! In fact, I could apply that logic to a lot of things!
It's nice to meet you all!

Hello Alex!
'Frankenstein' is a truly fantastic classic novel, especially if you have a vivid imagination like mine? I'm not sure if you know or if it's in the introduction, but apparently the idea for 'Frankenstein' came to Shelley after the baby she gave birth to, sadly died. She placed the baby in front of the fire and apparently, the baby looked as if it may just wake up! Sad, eh?
Anyway, enjoy the book!

message 124: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Hello!
My name is Sarah. I'm 17 and I'm from Dublin, Ireland. I'm currently in my final year of secondary school. I'm not reading anything at the moment but I've just ordered a copy of The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh, so I'll be reading that next. The most recent addition to my list of favourite movies is Call Me By Your Name which I watched a few weeks ago and absolutely loved.

message 125: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sayrawww) | 17 comments Howdy!
I'm Sarah (sayrawww). ASL? 28/F/Austin, TX
I've been a member of Goodreads for a few years or so, however this is the first group that I've ever joined. I was involved in a book club, Liquorature, with two of my closest girlfriends and it was my most precious monthly treasure, but unfortunately we have slowly dispersed, and I've been looking to fill my gaping heart hole ever since! I love discussing literature and film, and I think this group will be the perfect fit! I studied film in school and earned an associates degree in RTF-Radio-Television-Film, and now, five long years later, I'm finally starting school again this May to complete my Bachelors degree. However, I've changed career passions and I have changed my degree plan..I have never lost passion for creating, watching, or discussing film though, and I am very much looking forward to discussing current reads, TV/ movies, and all the feels. :-)

message 127: by Cecilia (new)

Cecilia Simchak | 1 comments Hi!
I’m Cecilia, currently in Boston. I’ve always loved reading, but have been getting addicted to forcing myself to read a book once I see it’s being made into a movie or tv show I want to see. It’s always fun to see what’s different between the two. Unfortunately, most of my friends only ever see the movie so I’m left discussing the differences alone! Haha.

I have my BA in English Literature & Political Science & my masters in Law & Public Policy. So obviously, I love reading. I tend to gravitate towards depressing fiction, music memoirs, and thrillers. I’ve been out of school for a couple years & realize I miss discussing what I’m reading, so I figured I’d give this a shot. Oh & I’m 28.

message 128: by Fresiako (new)

Fresiako | 1 comments sup everyone! i'm fres

message 129: by caroline bereza (new)

caroline bereza | 2 comments Hi I'm Caz and read as much as my life allows me too. I love thrillers, murder mysteries and horrors most but will read anything as long as it grips me. I average probably 2 books a month depending on life commitments, etc. Always ready to receive recommendations and love hearing others opinions as long as they don't mind hearing mine xxx

message 130: by Katie (new)

Katie (thexfilesvixen) | 7 comments Hi! I am new! I am from MN, USA and am an avid reader! I like mostly fiction and mostly mystery/thrillers, but also like sci-fi, fantast, dystopian, post apocalyptic, and chick lit! I love reading and watching movies based on books. I teach Special Education, garden, love my cats and love craft breweries. I am not new to goodreads, but new to the social aspect of it since I have given up facebook for a while. My current fave authors are Frederik Backman and Liane Moriarty. I am on a library book reading binge and am on the waiting list for "Red Sparrow".
Fun fact, instead of going on FB and watching TV I have stopped doing both (since about 2/17/18) and with my spare time I have read 32 books!!
Other fun fact: I kind of hoard books

Luís Felipe Mansur (lfmansur) | 1 comments Hey guys! I'm Luís from Brazil. I'm 24yo and I'm an architect. I enjoy reading and watching movies and I was looking for a group that could stimulate me doing both things. Sometimes we get swallowed by day-by-day life, and it's hard to keep track of things you really enjoy. I hope I can make new friends and grow my knowledge in both matters. Feel free to add me anytime!

message 134: by Earwig (new)

Earwig (elicat) | 1 comments hello hello, I am Mel and am from Perth, Australia. I work full time and have 2 little delinquents ... I mean children ... so not much time for much else. I manage to squeeze in reading any and all types of books, ranging from biographies and non fiction about Sydney prostitutes and electroshock therapy to the the ever mind numbing YA pop fiction. Something that i both enjoy and dislike is watching movies based on books and willing myself to ignore discrepancies and just enjoy the ride.

message 135: by fatimah (new)

message 138: by Laura (new)

Laura (Stars and Vellum) (itslaurakatarina) Hiya,

I'm Laura, I'm 24, I'm a UI designer and I live in Ireland. I hope to go back to college soon to get a History degree and work as a museum curator. I'm very introverted and find it hard to make new friends. I'm vegan and an animal activist. I also play guitar and cello for 12 years :)

I absolutely adore reading, mainly YA, Fantasy and Historical Fiction / Non-Fiction. I look forward to being part of this group! :)

message 139: by nora lynn-manns (new)

nora lynn-manns | 1 comments Hello everyone! My name is Nora I'm 18 living in the USA, I'm from Cambodia but was adopted as a baby. I'm planning to apply to college next year. I love to read really any books! My favorites are novels related to Physics, Grace Lin stories, or ones that typically keep me engaged.

I haven't always been a fast reader, more of a methodical one. But I love to read and watch movies a lot. I am currently reading a book called Girls Who Code and I'm also reading George's Secret Key To The Universe by Stephen Hawking and Lucy Hawking. I was interested in this group because I think it might help get my reading back up to speed.

message 140: by Nina (new)

Nina | 1 comments Hello everyone! I'm Nina and I live in Germany. I obviously love books and after a long break I'm kinda going back into reading more. I look forward to talk about books & movies with you guys!

message 141: by Frances (new)

Frances Nielsen | 4 comments Hi, I'm Frances, from Sydney Australia. I love hearing people's opinions and thoughts about movies and books - this group sounds great!
I don't really have a favourite genre as such, I'm willing to try anything! But what I do enjoy is good characters and 'art' that shines a light or reflects how we are as people. (Btw, I think movies and book qualify as art.)
Cheers to all!

message 142: by Sree Ganesh (new)

Sree Ganesh Balaji (sreeganeshbalaji) Hi folks. I'm Sree Ganesh, a daydreaming 19-year old from Chennai, India. I love books, movies and music. Apart from that, I'm more into quizzing and singing. Although I'm new to Goodreads, my love affair with books started when I was in my 3rd Grade. Whenever I am at leisure, I 'Binge-Read' a lot. I'm a big-time Elon Musk fan, so I try to read one book per day like him and to be honest, I'm a bit successful in that.
Though I like to explore all the genres, I love reading the Classics, a lot of Sci-fi, a little bit of Thriller and a few Biographical stories. Hoping to have meaningful discussions on this forum!

I studied German at University (many moons ago) and am currently dividing my time between working as an Independent Film Producer and studying for an MA in Creative Writing. I have a passion, therefore, for both films and books so that's why I'm here.
