Where as I love how we started off with a bang of activity and touch of danger and glimpse of relating beyond the school day learning.

I can identify with her a lot. She grows as a person through the book series. She was raised to be a guardian too, so she also had the mindset of "They come first" so she was completely unprepared for motherhood.
I think she's a good character.

I have the 10th anniversary edition of VA and Vampire Academy: The Ultimate Guide on order. I can't wait for it to come in.

Yay! Thank you for keeping up with the books! I will be starting Shadow Kiss soon! Booktubeathon took over my life there for a hot minute but I'm ready to jump back in on this readathon!

I really like that Dimitri and the other guardians came up with the idea for Rose to have Christian. They were right, Rose won't always be with Lissa and Lissa does need to know how it works with someone who can't connect on the same level. That reason alone was worth the whole thing.
As for working with Christian, Rose needed to spend time with him as a person. So she could have that connection with him if for nothing more than the future when they're adults and Lissa and Christian are a couple. If she can't find something in him now to like and respect it will only be harder in the future.
For the tension in the book I thought it was done well for her to be surprised. In real life I'd have thought he would let her know and explain the reasons why. She would have accepted it very well after thinking about the "why". She wasn't totally unreasonable in her reaction in the book though.
