There's a reason we lost touch...

Not this time, Cynthia, but great idea! Trying to keep it light after all that "death and sadness," I imagine this little girl to be as she appears -- a playful six year old who just happened to be born into one of those rare families of hereditary Time Travelers. (Probably have some in the TT Group.) She's still learning and loves birthday parties.

Garrett Smith (garrettsmith) | 246 comments When I was about that age, my birthday party was at a skating rink. I had the best time ever! If I could have gone back the next day, and the next and next. I would have. My mom would have had to put a lock on my TT remote.

Aching knees, aching hearts, moonlight gleams, light and shadow dances upon ancient stardust. Was mankind meant to live so long? To populate the stars, and to never taste death? How long had it been since he’d left Earth a hundred years before or was it two? Did it matter anymore?

Everyone sought the Fountain of Youth, but he alone understood the implications. Finally the unfathomable distances between stars was something Humanity could bridge.

“How far to destination?” 72,864 years 11 months 7 days 4 hours 8 minutes 11 seconds.

Would it be worth it? He didn’t know.

Cheryl (cherylllr) I like it. Thanks for posting!

Ron McGaw | 13 comments The hill was across the road from Candlestick Park. Nothing dangerous. We were kids, Dave and I. Could a person see into the stadium from the top? That's what we wanted to know. So we scaled the fence, ignoring the "Do Not Enter" sign, and climbed to the top over stones the size of bowling balls. Sure, I picked it up, but I handed it to Dave. He's the one who dropped it. Who knew a stone going downhill would pick up energy, bounce higher and higher, higher even than the fence. Was it our fault the car didn't swerve?

I first noticed her five years ago. Unless I was late, I always saw her during my morning commute. The first time she wasn’t dressed appropriately for a snow storm, I realized she always wore the same clothes. Nothing about her ever changed. I decided to engage her in conversation. She acted as if I wasn’t there. I followed her to an abandoned building. The door slammed behind her and and I couldn’t budge it to get in. I eventually found her point of origin. If you find this note instead of me, please send help to 101 Main Street.

A time ghost...as in A Tale of Time City by Diana Wynne Jones A Tale of Time City

When something is done with great urgency and import...The action is captured and repeated throughout time. In Tale of Time City everyone roots for the ghost to get to the top of the clock tower. No one alive remembers the events related to the ghost...Just that it tries to reach the top each day and disappears before doing so.

Did you just create your own time ghost Amy?

I read that years ago. Maybe the concept lodged into my brain from there?
